I’ve just moved to Frankfurt area from the UK and looking for Split partners as well. Would like to explore the Czech mountains and more in Austria. Hit me up if still interested.

Hey D, i’m now located in Germany (south of Frankfurt) from the UK. Looking to get back on my split after a knee op last year. I’ve had a couple of weeks on my solid with the family in Austria over New Year to test the knee and all good. Might be up for a trip in Switzerland and Austria. Do you still have any plans? Ideas?

Hey, I was in the Pryrenees last winter and did the same, converted my van and toured from it. Just did mainly the French side but has massive potential and Pyrenees got more snow than the Alps last winter.
In Spain I would defo check out Baqueira Beret. It has massive off piste potential.http://www.baqueira.eps
One thing I’d be wary off is sleeping overnight in resort car parks. Most are in Avalanche paths and last winter the car park in La Mongie was hit by an avalanche. I tended to stay in next village down the valley and travel up each day.
There is also a magazine publication that is purely focused on off piste itineraries with topo maps just for the Pyrenees. Can’t remember the name but I did some of the itineraries and was well worth buying.
Such a great area to explore. Have fun!

    Hey Shesplits

How did the Trew gear hold up this winter? Ended up getting a jacket and pants too. Still another 6 weeks before I can try it out. Awesome gear though!

The Douchebag is a great piece of kit as is Snowcart but I’ve had my Burton wheelie case for 15 years now and it’s still in one piece. Gotta a wheelie gig bag too which I just use for boards/bindings and boots and I take a duffel too. I can fill both with 20kg each and not pay any extra plus a carry on with 10kg max. Not that I take 50kgs with me, but I could.

    Hey
If your going to be in France your best best will probably be in Chamonix. Plenty of 4000m peaks and a good snow kite scene. Should be able to still Split in May. You could contact Neil McNab from McNab Snowsports for advice and guiding if you want someone to show you around Chamomix. He does a lot of Splitting in the area. It’s a great town to spend some time in

I don’t think there’re going to be running slowshoes for much longer Jeff. We have shown them the right path

Burton apparently done a colab with Spark next season and also with Voile with a new interface for the channel system. Looks good and can’t wait to try next season.

I do a lot of mountain biking at night and these are the best lights I have come across. They do all attachments for helmets too.

    Hey

Great photos. Some nice looking terrain. Haven’t ridden Italy that much, even though from the UK. Dolomites look sick :headbang:

Best way I have split a board is with a Festool circular saw on their guide rail system. It’s expensive kit so you will need to know a carpenter or joiner who has one. Once you cramp the guide rail to the board, you get a perfectly straight cut. It’s works on a plunge action and can adjust in millimetre increments.

    Hey Shesplits

We’ve just got Trew gear into the UK this season and I really like it. They have a woman’s range too and have a bib pant.
    Check them out!

Have you tried The Sick and the Wrong for the DIY kit. I did one a couple of years ago and got my stuff from them. It’s pretty easy to do but there are better drill bit options than they recommend. I used Forstner bits for the 3/4″ recesses for the T-nuts not spade bits. You have more control of depth.
You could always order from Amazon.com, it’s easier to ship here now or Voile direct.
Isn’t the Canyon the 3 hole pattern so inserts in the centre of the board? I would split the K2

I feel an early season trip coming. That train is a great option compared to driving. Good find Jon
