I just moved to Zurich, and I’ll stay for at least 6 months, maybe longer. Looking for english-speaking splitboarders to share gas and mountains with! I’ll be working full-time 😐 so I plan to spend every weekend snowboarding/splitboarding.

I haven’t been in Zurich for some time, but i’ve been there many times in the past. I’m sure you’ll figure out the local websites and people pretty fast as it’s not a huge city. Try local shops (like Zimstern) and ask there.

    Maybe try Erstespur.de and http://go-shred.com ?

I go to CH at least once a year depending on conditions. I went to Haldigrat / Engelberg last season, it’s a very nice area pretty close to you. Lots of possibilities for touring there, I’m sure you’ll meet people at the skintrack or huts to hang out with, although we were the only splitboarders at the time.

Also get a book called Helvetic Backcountry, lots of tours with details and maps in there. And you can try contacting the guys who wrote that book as they are all splitbaorders.

    Hey Trondh,

I’m in Lausanne, not Zurich, but I also just moved to CH and am looking to meet some local splitters.
I put up a similar post here: http://splitboard.com/talk/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=15685&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

We are a couple hours apart, but perhaps there is some good terrain that is reasonable to access from both cities.

    Cheers,
    Josh

The Helvetic Backcountry dudes are doing a new book this year, and they have an opening party to promote it. I think they’re based in Zurich, so it’s probably there and I imagine it will be mostly splitboarders. I believe somewhere in the beginning of october, but i’m not on facebook, so you should probably check that out yourself.

Also Alpine Splitfest is in your neck of the woods. Don’t want to miss that one.

    Cheers,

    Ivar
