We decided that an overnighter might be the best option on this first trip (in case of frostbite or hypothermia.) So, we set out last Friday in search of some old, crusty snow and a good time. Loaded up the snowmobiles with lots of food and way too much gear, and headed for the hills. Set up went smooth as silk. Only took about two hours of our precious riding time! Went out post set up and found some nice recrystalized powder that put smiles on our faces. The Circus Tent at dusk. The Crew after a nice pot of soup and turkey steaks! Oh yeah! Saturday morning after a good night’s sleep in the 70 degree interior of the tent. It was about 16 degrees outside. Life is so good. Just getting ready to roll out on the sleds for another day of wrecking pow. Looking at the day’s goodies. Very nice. Boardergirl gettin’ some two week old pow. Still pretty good. Gramps watching the rocks from above. Jennifurrrr droppin’ in. Checking out the next thrill of the day. JB making skiing look pretty good… for a two-planker! B-rad, another sorry two-planker, wreckin’ the pow. B-rad over the rocks. E dropping into the steep sweetness. E pointing it through the chute. Ahhhhh. The skin back up. Early season pain at it’s finest. The crew at the end of a great couple of days. Everyone is still alive and unfrozen. Great trip. Can’t wait for the next Circus Tent adventure. Next time it’ll be much longer! November 29, 2006 at 5:17 am #592287 Ecobrad 2068 PostsKick ass trip report. You guys got it figured out. Sweet terrain. November 30, 2006 at 3:44 am #592294 Tophervw 203 PostsIs the circus tent, intent….to leave it pitched in an ideal locatioin for the winter or is it torn down each trip?C November 30, 2006 at 5:22 am #592295 boardergirl 85 PostsFlowtorch: All I can say is that the Circus was held in a top secret location in Northern Utah… I’m not sure if it’s a steezy crew… maybe just a ‘stanky’ crew. We had been skinning for two days without a shower in between!Tophervw: We wish we could leave the big top up all winter, but we’re a little nervous that angry haters such as slednecks/granola treehuggers/or forest service dudes might torch the place or trash it. And since we qualify as two of the three catagories, we’re really in a no win situation. Thus, we have to break camp at the end of each adventure. That’s cool, though, since there are so many mouth-watering places to be pillaged around. Gotta keep it fresh! We have several longer trips planned for the season. After a week of tent life, packing it up will probably be o.k. November 30, 2006 at 11:15 pm #592296 liv4pow 10 PostsThat might be the best TR I have ever seen. You guys truly have THE ulimate setup. So jealous right now.I can’t imagine how nice it would be to spend a week with sleds in the backcountry. Most of us will only be able to dream about that type of trip. Major props to you and the crew for the early season stoke.
