Participant@florianS sent you a PM. I’ll probably be at the rum bar or avalanche likely around 4pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (here’s hoping!)

I appreciate all the info. Sorry for the multiple replies. I sent the reply from my phone and it looks like it sent it multiple times. We should be in town all day Saturday, so might just run into you at Avalanche. Gonna be at the Ska/Venture party as well.December 18, 2015 at 11:51 am #787302DEAGOL
ParticipantFlorian,
I am in the same boat as you sometimes (AIARE Level 1, avy gear, safety minded) . I have some great partners, but can’t always hook up with them..
Drop me a line if you want to get out sometime after the holidays..January 4, 2016 at 11:12 am #787883Mitch Dreyer
ParticipantI just wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Mitch, and this is my first season splitting, I have been snowboarding since 1998 and have become quite a powder snob and just an overall bad at sharing rider who wants to find my own snow and have my own experience. At this point I don’t plan on doing much other than skinning up the resort I work at(Snowmass) to get my fitness up, as I have not done my Level 1 yet. I do have a beacon, probe, and shovel, and after my next paycheck I will have my pack.
I live in Carbondale and am aware of some of the terrain on offer around here, but in no way shape or form feel educated or confident enough in my abilities to approach any of it.
I would love to grab lunch and or dig some pits with someone in the area and just chat all things split and snow science. I am very excited about getting into this, but I am approaching it very slowly as I know that mistakes are irreversible in the back country and I have a lot of living left to do.
Looking forward to meeting some Colorado riders and learning all I can!
Mitch

ParticipantAnybody in the A-Basin, Breck, Copper zone want to get out for a day tour Monday Feb 1st to Wed Feb 3rd?
I’m visiting from BC and looking to explore some new terrain, slack-country or full earn-your-turns.
Peace, Matt

ParticipantAny front range people want to do some rock climbing? Top-roping or sport sub 5.10?
