Looking for more people to tour with. COLORADO, all over the front range, where ever the snow is. Lets start some talking! I know a couple people on this board  , why is everyone so quiet about riding friends? I love to shred, I don’t mind a long tour but I hope it results in a long run down! :thatrocks:
I ride my close to home spots- Berthoud, RMNP, Jones, and anywhere in Colorado where the snow is good.
anybody doing any 14ers?
any big chutes or couloirs?
I’m looking for more cliffy terrain with launch ramps and funsticles everywhere.
Mostly tour on weekends but down to do some long days and camping for sure.
we are getting snow RIGHT NOW MAY 1st! :bananas: so whats up who’s still riding?
YEP…. just as I presumed.. Shredded some jones pass with sleds Saturday and rode some flat light corn at bert on sunday. The plan was Mt Elbert sunday but weather didn’t approve. 😆 😆 we got snowed out.
anybody set to make the first couple days when hwy 82 opens? Hoping to make it down for the weekend and camp a night or two.
It has been an excellent late season. I should have gone up yesterday day. Looks like it was yet another powder day. For such a crappy start we are finishing with a snow pack similar to the 10-11 season. At least in the Central and Northern mountains.
Conditions in Central CO are great! i have been skinning Uneva pass in the evenings after work this week and its been fun. hard to beat 7:45pm pow turns. I have not had time this last week to get to serious, but you all should see the lines my buddies are riding in the Gore! getting warm today but i imagine the snow is going to hold up well for a while and the biggest lines of the season are yet to happen. CTG, hoping to see you at Indy pass the 24th! I hope the snow is as good over there as it is up Uneva?
   late season excellence! shredded some Berthoud Saturday and hung with some splitboard.comers, great people on here for sure! Bert rode great, corning up nicely. Sunday I went to ABAY and did some cornices and a jib park with no jumps :nononno: Chairlifts are just too easy. :doobie:
Travis- not sure the plans for this weekend- I have some kids fired up to go explore some new snowmobile zones, IF those plans fall apart or turn lame I will def try to come camp out. Is that still on? I’m down to get gnarly, been having SO much fun lately
From what I see on CDOT looks like the 23, the Thursday before memorial day weekend. MIGHT take Friday off and ride Friday- Saturday.
The gf is getting slightly annoyed that my winter just keeps going… so probably not the whole weekend like I wanted. 😥
I need to check again but I think they are claiming some good deep snow out there still. All this late season love is helping keep things filled in.
Don’t think I will make it for Friday the 24th, but closing in on a plan to hit Independence on Sat/Sun, maybe even Monday and make my long slog back home late Monday night…
EDIT: changed plans, I will be there Friday and Saturday! Assuming they get the pass opened…
sounds like its gonna be better than last year over that way…
and don’t forget full moon style Friday night, time to go BIG! 😀
HAHA “that will wake the bears up” no shit! last year- first weekend of june there was a bear attack of a truck topper one campsite away from my sleeping GF.. I must have just missed said bear as I started my Xl long daytrip to grizzle peak.
Nice! It looks like the pass will open on time. And, check it out: Aspen Reopening Memorial Day Weekend. Might do Friday/ Saturday on Indy pass and ride the chair with the fam on Sunday. Or something like that.
Anyone going to be at Indy tomorrow (Saturday)? My partner bailed and I was still thinking of heading up for the day.
Sorry, i just now saw this. I had originally planned to go back up Indy tomorrow but we’re riding the lifts at Aspen instead. Conditions were very good today. Tomorrow should be good with plenty of folks to ride with, I even think Lou Dawson is hosting some sort of BBQ on the west side of the pass.
did you do the main couly on grizzly? from the pics I’ve seen she looks ready to rock beside the weird cornice on top.. (not really overhanging)any shots of emperor or turning fork? I read someone climbed turning over the weekend! that’s a long good looking run, I saw that on my way to grizzly couly last season.
Its a way late reply, but since we’re gearing up for another season I figured I’d post in this thread to mention I’ll be around all winter. I generally have Sundays until 3pm, Mondays all day, Tuesdays all day, and Wednesdays until 2pm free. I work at Loveland Ski Area and generally hit up the mellow alpine lines on the pass, the south face of Mt. Trelease, and Butler gulch during the winter; but want to explore berthoud more, especially when things start to set up and more options become realistic.
So if any of you ever have a weekday off and want to get out, give a holler.
