Hey Splitters. We’re planning my bachelor party in Tahoe, and none of us have ever been there. We’d like to go as late as possible in the mid-season BEFORE the Spring Break crowd comes in and prices for everything go up. I know in places here like Breck this is typically the second weekend in March. Will we be safe going to Tahoe the first weekend in March, or should we shoot for the end of February?
I don’t live IN Tahoe but my advice is just to make sure you don’t hit it on a holiday weekend (MLK, Presidents Day, etc.). Spring break is usually late March/early April so you should be fine the first week of March. Are you looking for BC or resorts or both? North or South Lake?
Congrats on getting hitched. Does she know what she’s getting herself into? :headbang:

Resorts. South Lake, Heavenly because many of us from Denver have the Epic Pass so we ski free. Although if snow is good I wouldn’t mind driving up to Squaw. Never been.
You’ll have a good time. The best thing about Heavenly is no driving. Gondola from your hotel. Plus if the snows good you can bomb ob back to your room.
Between high school and the various universities and state schools, spring break begins around the second week in March and can last about four weeks into April. I would suggest first week in last week in fen, first week in March.
The spring break crowd here is nothing like it is in CO. I remember in Breck the entire month of March being a junkshow in the rental shops, restaurants, everywhere. Tahoe, at least the North Shore, it’s pretty much business as usual, especially midweek. The week before and after Presidents Day is the time to avoid here.
as stated, dont miss out on Squaw. And, if you have the time go down to Mammoth one day. Its 2.5 hours south and like a different mountain range. Dont get me wrong, I love Tahoe. But for the complete package go see the big one
Thanks Tex! We booked a house on Heavenly and have over a dozen guys, so we’ll probably just stay there in South Lake. Too much to organize a trip to Mammoth, etc. Plus we want to hit the casinos and strip clubs in NV. Any suggestions?
Not that I’ve ever been, but if you want strip clubs take a shuttle to Reno. Getting a private dancer to come to your house is an option but as far as clubs go, SLT has nda mucho.
The casinos in SLT should be fun during that time of year, assuming the snow’s decent and the white trash from the Central Valley and Bay Area are heading up in droves.

No strip clubs on the NV side of SLT? That surprises me. We’ll pass on Reno…plenty of strips clubs back in Denver 🙂
