I’ll probably have wait until the snow flies.Initial thoughts on the board itself…the shape looks perfect and the flex feel nice too. The cap construction looks solid. Can’t want to ride her! So anyone else name theirs? White Lightning, The Green Machine…etc. Yes I’m a nerd….lack of snow is my excuse! 😀 November 14, 2007 at 4:36 am #599392 split.therapy 455 PostsWow Rider, you’re bored. My girlfriend called my prototype from last season the “ripe banana”. You can guess the color. I remember watching that movie on VHS over and over between backyard mini-ramp sessions at my friend’s house back in junior high!!! November 14, 2007 at 6:36 pm #599394 bcd 232 Postspet names are kinda weird, dude. If you start referring to it as “The Precious”, I’m gonna have to kick you off The Team. Sorry. But seriously, if you live in the rockies those things don’t stand a chance.OR, how about “Mr. Hankey” ? 😀 November 14, 2007 at 7:29 pm #599396 bcrider 4150 Posts @bcd wrote:I’m gonna have to kick you off The Team. You have cracked me up with a poo joke.Putting the poo in swimming pool since 1968. I have to send it back at the end of the season so they can dissect the damage. All my friends who have checked it out give it less than 5 rides before I do.The mojo I have is white but nonetheless will not be naming it – but along those lines I have a tele friend that calls splitboards “Transformers” and typically sings the Transformers ad jingle when we get out: “Transformers more than meets the eye/Transformers snowboards in disguise” shit made me laugh.also have heard “Contraption” and “Batmobile” ❓ November 15, 2007 at 5:02 pm #599401 shredgnar 643 Posts=”Voile sent me one to see how many I can blow out in one season. The base and edges are like new still. I am no lightweight. I weigh 235 lbs. I destroy everything I touch. It’s a gift ❗ 5 rides over no snow, maybe. Some of the lines are too steep/hairy to be taking your board off to hike to them so you ride over the rocks. In the two seasons that I rode MT Baker, I don’t think I got a single scratch on my board the whole time and I was riding pretty gnarly shit every day.I think that blown edges are just part of life here in the “ROCKIES”.Bcrider- come out to CO sometime and we will show you what we are talking about. 😉 November 16, 2007 at 10:11 pm #599405 Will 377 PostsAs a Montana shred I concur with the billy goat comments. I never needed a rock board when I was a highschool park rat in Minnesota.Back to the original question on this thread, my suggestion – the man “I feel good”“Too funky in here”“Get on the good foot”“Turn it loose”The list goes on and on brah November 16, 2007 at 10:21 pm #599406 powderjunkie 1669 PostsMaybe you guys should stop spending so much time side-slipping over rocks!😀 😀 😀Mr. Hankey has got to win this one. I spent 12 years in the cascades (mainly at Baker) and would get easily 2-3 seasons out of a board (60+ days) with little more than perhaps a base weld. Then spent 2 seasons in the Wasatch (pretty much the same for coverage/damage as the cascades) before moving to Big Sky.What a lesson Lone Peak is – crash course of buddhism re: accepting impermanence.“Get used to it quick” one local said about trashing equipment in order to get to/ride fun lines. If one rides the upper mountain 60+ days a year, you can count on replacing your board every year (and I’m talking NS, Venture, Arbor and Option). The one Burton Triumph I rode on LP lasted 2 months?! and that was considered their 2 year warranty “tough” board.Hard lesson as I grew up ski racing so riding well tuned gear is in my blood. Good thing I have close friends that work in my local repair shop.I’ll keep you posted WHEN I blow my first edge out Dave at Voile on the other hand thinks otherwise.PS. Assuredly this is not from sideslipping over rocks. Sometimes I’m the annoying one giving the grommets and earful from the chair. Not sure who is more annoying in these cases.
