Voile’s position has been to not sell decks only. Decks and hardware have finite lifespans, and by matching new decks/new hardware Voile can circumvent potential warranty issues with old hardware failures on new boards… What if someone bought a Mojo this season second hand at a great price only to find the hardware was ancient? Easier to avoid all of this by offering complete splits only.
Completely unrelated question, but I was curious about Voile’s total production figures. Do you know how roughly how many total splitboards Voile’s produced/shipped? Or how many this year with the Mojo release?
I can understand voiles stance on selling decks with out hardware, but a lot of split users have skins they can be used on various decks. I believe the new mojo retails for $825 and comes with skins and all the hardware. What if you could get a mojo with out skins or plates for $700. Perhaps voile could consider and option similar to this.

It’s never a bad idea to have a spare set of skins. Not necessarily in your pack but at least in the car at the trailhead. Personally I have at least one extra of every component on my split, and I have spare pins, screws, t-nuts, discs and other small parts in a tiny bag in my pack along with extra batteries for my beacon etc….

I’d be willing to buy just the skins from you for $125 and I’d pay shipping. let me know. 😉

I’m just curious as to how this is different than old bindings on a new solid board or a pair of skis. Doesn’t the company already make “judgement” calls on warrantied items?
I am assuming you are simply talking about the pucks cause Will’s binding setup is about to make those slider plates obsolete.
While I am stoked for Will and his bindings – I’m hoping myself to possibly get a set. I seriously doubt ever splitter will be sporting a set. I don’t know, but could Voile void warranty if they choose for running Will’s bindings? just curious ❓

Not this year for sure. It is most definitely the future and I can’t see why anyone would run plates and strap bindings once Will’s bindings are readily available. Paying for plates and pins when you buy a board will be needless.
could Voile void warranty if they choose for running Will’s bindings?
I don’t see how providing a warranty for the board with the new binding setup would be any different than solid board manufacturers. How are they currently providing warranties with everyone’s garage built binding franken creations?
^^ I’ll still need the pucks to run my k2 clicker bindings, as far as I can tell at least. After 12 years on ’em, I just didn’t want to go back to Regular boots and bindings, Until I saw those………
