Here’s my last hurrah for this season. It’s a vid comprised of helmetcam footage from my last couple of trips to the Dana Plateau in May (Exhibit A and Exhibit B). Hence the insanely original title.

If nothing else, at least I know that p420 will approve of 1/2 of the soundtrack…

Insider tip: note the brief appearance of the reverse-mounted splitboard binding at around 3:18. It’s the new trend. 🙂

Nice work Jim! Way to slay…you’re going to have to keep your new mounting system flowing man.

How are some of you posting the new “You Rock” icon?

That chute looks so much steeeper on the climb than the decent. Did you ever get gripped on the way up?

    Nice ridin and vid.

It’s steep on the descent too. 🙂

Usually the only time I get gripped on the ascent is if I think the descent might be questionable, or if the snow conditions start getting unstable or hard and icy, both of which certainly have happened. In this case, on the second day at the very top of the climb, maybe the last 50 feet or so, I started punching through this slab to soft sugar snow, which was a little unnerving. It was isolated to just that particular spot, probably because the aspect changed more northward slightly. I was descending a more east-facing aspect so it was fine on the way down.

Just to clarify… the first half was up Powerhouse, down 3rd Pillar; the second half was up Powerhouse, down Powerhouse.

Hey Tommy – you rock! :thatrocks:

You can select it from the “View more Emoticons” link. Or you can just type it in:

p420, it was a tough call between “Get Down Tonight, “Shake Your Booty”, and “That’s The Way I Like It”, but how can you go wrong with those choices? 🙂

Great shit, plateau Jim. That was some of the best 10 mins of video I’ve watched in a while. The mellow acoustic guitar riff over the mandatory hairball climbs, scoping of lines, etc. was really cool and original.

Glad to see redemption on 3rd Pillar, as well as incredible untracked in Powerhouse. Thanks for taking it all the way to the end of the last little snowfinger…..although I think you could have milked it just a little further on the 3rd Pillar out. 😉

Thanks SF, it’s good to know that my actions can make another dude talk about his penis…

Glad you guys enjoyed the vid. Joe, you shoulda been there, Powerhouse was prime that day! I know I really should have milked that exit from the 3rd Pillar day all the way… what can I say? I wussed out. Guess I just have to go back next year. 🙂
