Jeff Steele and I took @likestoride beta and headed for the trees on Friday. I’m glad we did especially with the possibility of widespread wind slab issues. The temps were in the low to high teens all morning and the POW quality was amazing. We still need some more base but this was some of the lightest snow I’ve rode in the Sierra, 2-3′ of it.
Great morning light.
Thanks for the shots Jeff.

Nice Colin, but only 1 pic is showing.
Friday, we trudged up Stevens, for good turns up high, but a bad low tide exit.

Nice @powderjunkie ! It does look thin there on the exit. How was it up top? Any wind slab issues?
Hmm.. It’s showing all the images when I’m logged in and when I’m not. Are you still seeing only one image?November 29, 2015 at 5:21 pm #786551

Kind of a disappointing storm. But what can you expect from the forecasters right b4 the weekend. 3 inches lake level. Go in to the heave for the views and safety meeting on snow todayDecember 4, 2015 at 9:56 am #786803tiltedworldParticipant

North Shore has just under a foot from the storm. 10″ measured at my house in Tahoe Donner, elev. 6550.December 10, 2015 at 9:17 am #786996
After hours of rain…at 9am in south shore it’s now snowingDecember 10, 2015 at 9:30 am #787000
good news. at least the rain should help consolidate the snowpack.
doesn’t matter now, but Sunday still held good snow in the trees but you could tell it was getting warm, then on Monday the snow was complete mank and sticky at waterhouse.
take caution on what you select to ride after this round of storms – still lots of areas and zones with little to no snowpack even though it seems we are off to a good season.December 13, 2015 at 7:47 am #787113imitationfunkParticipant

Damn I look good
snowing as of now in south shore. I hope the higher lakes start to freeze so I can get into some fun zonesDecember 16, 2015 at 10:43 am #787241
super cold yesterday morning around Carson Pass. It was socked in in the morning then cleared to beautiful sunshine. Perfect snow conditions, still bony in places.
always good to see dishwasher Dave out too.December 17, 2015 at 3:43 pm #787279
Great pow out there last few days… More snow now than all of last season. Went out today (carson pass easy laps off the spur), snow was good till noon. then rapid warming, humid inversion….pow turned into rollerball and mash potato typeDecember 21, 2015 at 8:17 am #787390
Fun weekend… It dumped at Carson pass, in town a few inches.. Good storm riding
Imitationfunk gets pow on tallac

A- grade of consolidated powder on north side of Ralston. No wind effect or crust layer in there. Beautiful day on Sunday.
But, the south facing exit at sunset was brutal death crust, but worth the effort for two good laps.
Storn splitbooted again. 🙂
Let’s see some pics splitboard.com crew. We had a blastFebruary 22, 2016 at 2:38 pm #789747
Tamarack had good snow still on Sunday, but some east facing was getting crusty. I counted over 80 tracks in hourglass area alone near end of day. It was pretty crazy and looked like a resort. Storn didn’t splitboot at all. 😉
Castle/Andesite was OK on Saturday. much more wind affected and transitioning quicker.
The drive down 80 was the worst I have ever been in. Absolutely awful.March 15, 2016 at 6:13 pm #790513
Been riding a lot of kirkwood lately, maybe im gettin lazy, but I love hiking vista! Anyway snow has been wet/ heavy got out today 3-15 Hot, soft snow with pockets of pow, lower elevations got sticky. Tommorow? North facing trees that are wind protected and get high, maybe then Ill find some good pow

Aaron- did you ride Comma?
found winter snow and up to 3 inches of powder at sisters yesterday. got to centerpunch both north facing lines off the two sisters. also some windboard and some crap but all in all pretty fun and smooth turns.
hope this next storm delivers, but looks like these warm storms are the norm now.
