After an impressive apprenticeship on the steeps of Chamonix, Siffredi hauled his board up some of the biggest peaks on the planet. In 2002 he made the first continuous descent of Everest. This article is interesting b/c it seems like something more likely to be published in Alpinist than in a plaidcamo jibber mag. Not sure how this slipped past the editors, but I’m glad it did. It’s nice to see some mainstream coverage of snowboard mountaineering. His binding set up looks like straps. I guess they are over PMBs and insulated gaiters. In a couple picks there is an upper ankle strap that looks a little like the old burton shin strap. On the shots from the summit of Everest his setup looks impressively normal.
