Wade was a friend and rode the same local mountains in Southern Alberta that I do. Although we ran in different circles he had my deepest respect and admiration.I am lucky enough to sell Prior snowboards here in southern Alberta and after Wade passed there was some talk of perhaps a tribute board done for Wade and his family. I approached Prior and they were thrilled at the idea and gave me the go ahead. I was able to work with Wade’s wife, family and friends and with a talented local artist to put together a board that we feel symbolizes the many things Wade loved about being in the mountains.I have just spoken to Prior and the topsheet material and base materials are all in stock and ready for production. The Galloway board will e available on ANY prior board this season…split or solid.I feel truly honored to have worked on this project. I am so grateful to Sarah for providing m with insights and suggestions. I am sure the process was hard for her. A huge thank you to Spencer Court the artists that took all my mad ramblings and sketches and suggestions and boiled them down to a stunningly beautiful board IMHO. Thank you to Prior for standing behind this and making it all possible.to order a Wade Galloway tribute board please contact Prior Snowboards directly at http://www.priorsnow.com or by calling 1-877-93-PRIORThanks everyone…..I will shout for joy when I see a random Galloway board out in the mountains and I know a piece of Wade will be out there with each board.cheers.Dan November 18, 2014 at 9:18 pm #678416 Jefe009 675 PostsAwesome. Really well done. :thatrocks:What is the map of and what is that symmetrical image on the base?Be sure to bookmark Splitboard.com's Recent Activity page... http://splitboard.com/activity-2/ November 19, 2014 at 5:33 am #678420 peacefrog 376 PostsMuch respect November 19, 2014 at 7:11 am #678421 ieism 298 PostsGreat idea, and it looks awesome. I obviously didn’t know him, but I think it’s a really nice thing to do for a fellow rider. You’ve got to love Prior.http://flatlandsplitfest.com/ November 19, 2014 at 7:22 am #678422 UPGRAYEDD_2505 127 PostsAwesome. Great job on the board and a fitting tribute. November 19, 2014 at 4:44 pm #678423 TheClash 39 Poststhanks every one…..i’ll try to go through the board and why the images are there..color…as was mentioned the green reallly pops…bright lime green was wades favorite color. eagle: favorite animal, loved their freedom, intelligence etc trees…obvious diet pepsi logo: he called it the nectar of the gods. it was always with him on backcountry trips map: the map is actually of waterton/glacier. Wades riding territory. This may seem like a weird thing to put on the board as it is where wade died….but this was insisted on by his wife. I love it. image on the base: this is a gummi bear…..another one of wades favorite treats that were always in his pack.I am glad you all like it.
