I realize they are pr-molded but will oven treatment give you that puffy marshmallow full custom swell? With the spring sales it seems cheaper to buy a boot just for the liner opposed to buying replacement liners. Anyway, anyone care to divulge what boots come stock with a full on thermo liner? Seems some companies claim heat moldable but…… April 7, 2005 at 7:26 pm #581491 NoKnees 336 Posts Fiddled, I don’t know 100%, but how’s about 90% confidence that yes, there are what you are looking for and will provide that plush marshmellow fit to fill all the nooks and crannys… I came to this conclusion from checking with the Intuition web page and emailing them about Thirty Two’s liners, and talking with some of the folks over on bomber.com regarding one of the HPD liners that Fin sells over there. Hopefully someone else with some 32 boots will pipe in here. In the meantime, I’ll check with my buddy at Flow to see if he knows, as they also use and work with varoius Intuition liners… Greg - NoKnees April 7, 2005 at 8:06 pm #581492 dishwasher-dave 460 Posts I can’t answer your question for sure either, but I have been using 32 boots the last couple years and have been impressed. I had thought they were more of a fashion bs driven company, but my Tm-one boots have held up very well. They are very lightweight and comfortable. Fit is everything with boots, but light is right too. When I bought them the shop did the full on oven treatment, and I can’t say they felt like puffy marshmellow goodness but they did fit. As my riding buddies remind after every trip, the anti-smell treatment has definetly worn out though… April 7, 2005 at 8:21 pm #581493 sweetlou270 44 Posts Hey, BCR – Are the drivers 100%???? I have no idea….but….I do know I have small feet, and have NEVER worn a boot that I liked, let alone loved, like my Burton Drivers. Every other boot I have fits very poorly, and I’ve tried a ton of em. The drivers, after the heat mold, fit about as perfect as they can. I use K2 TI Hb boots with the deelux liner (distributed by Bomber…available in our store 🙂 ). April 7, 2005 at 9:01 pm #581495 sweetlou270 44 Posts Ha…. Yeah….not too articulate with my question….sorry! I meant to say are they fully moldable? I guess I was trigger happy after reading the second post with the 100% comment in it. That was in regards to confidence….not how moldable they are….I guess I am showing my ignorance, as I didn’t know there were levels of moldability. I always thought it was either moldable or not moldable. Maybe that is the case, and I am really looking foolish now. Anyway…. I only asked about specifics on the Driver, as I thought you were the Burton expert and figured you’d know. Again, I have always struggled to find a boot that I didn’t experience a nasty heal-lift with, and the Drivers certainly fixed my small-foot/high-arch issue…..once molded. In the interest of full disclosure I will say that most riders I know think the Driver is WAY TOO STIFF. By the way…..Huge sale on “SAMPLE BURTON GEAR” in Denver today…..Rumor has it that they have ’06 gear there, but only in size large. Don’t know yet, but will be checking this out after the daily grind. Give a call if you can’t find it, and I’ll tell you what I found. On my way right now April 7, 2005 at 9:23 pm #581498 bcrider 4149 Posts Ok, now I read ya. I’d say yes, there are different levels of moldability. Some snowboard brands may claim moldable but actually might not be the real deal. Hard to say…I haven’t done enough research on the topic…the deelux liners are 100%. Ps. have fun at the sample sale. 🙂 April 8, 2005 at 8:06 am #581499 iw 23 Posts I recently had a pair of Burton Driver boots fitted with a Vibram sole (btw – very successful – climbs rock and snow like a hard boot, takes quick release crampons and boards like a soft boot). The standard Driver inner boots are relatively heavy so I replaced them with Intuition liners. Had them heat moulded in the Shop (twice) and tried a couple of standard footbeds, but to be honest they proved to be unbearably uncomfortable. My feet are pretty flat so maybe that’s the problem or maybe I should go to a specialist shoe fitter to have them adapted expertly. Either way, I’ve gone back to the standard Burton inners and have comfortable feet, albeit with a small weight penalty.
