The problem is that, despite having almost the same cuff height as a pair of 325’s, they always seemed short in the cuff, specifically the front. This, of course, is aggrivated when I ride bigger boards (over 165 or so). Since I’m specifically buying a 171 as BC board, I’m thinking I wan these boots to fit…. So, onto the question! I’ve only ever used EVA thermo’s, and like em quite a bit. I have used the older Raihle thermo’s that were red and grey. I dig em- great fit, warm, and fairly even flex. These are the wrap around kind for hard boots/ ski boots. I did have to do a bit of extra work around the heel cup with fitting foam to help with cronic heel lift, but nothing out of the ordinary. Had em molded with Down Under foot beds. I’m excited to see that the new ones from Bomber are about 12+” in my size (27). How do these compair to the other options out there? Do Zips, etc, have a similar tall height? Are there foam liners with a wrap design? Surefoot has been recommended. I was told they were foam only, though my source is likely dated as every boot it seems comes with an EVA now… Also, have any of you hiked in a foam liner? I like the flexability of the stock Scarpa, but the Raichles seem to be ok… Hope that helps a bit, and I’m game for other folks’ info re: my questions.. I had Superfeet insoles put in and REI molded them for me. Ride very well, but are a little heavy for the long hikes, your Scarpa’s should hike better. If you have enough cuff above the boot, get some sort of power strap, it really seems to help with powering the toeside. August 9, 2005 at 7:32 pm #582379 bcrider 4149 Posts I swear by thermo liners! They’re just more comfortable and much lighter than stock liners. I’ve been very happy with the DeeLux liners (dist by Bomber). http://www.bombersplitboards.com/Pages/liners.cfm http://www.bombersplitboards.com/Pages/deeluxe_liner.cfm Three years ago when I got my first set I sewed on laces but on my most recent set I didn’t and haven’t had any problems. I got a better mold with my second set so that might be why I don’t need the laces. For taller cuffed boots they also offer these. http://www.bombersplitboards.com/Pages/hpd_liner.cfm Sizing chart http://www.bombersplitboards.com/Pages/sizing_chart.cfm Do it yourself Tips. http://www.bombersplitboards.com/Pages/molding_liners.cfm August 9, 2005 at 8:18 pm #582380 danger 5 Posts yeah bc rider! that’s what i’m talkin’ ’bout! couple more questions: are these liners made by intuition? what is the height of the liners? i like the “wrap around” style for better support, but are they too tall/overkill? can you get a pair with a velcro power strap? what boots do you put them in (hard/soft?)? do you benefit from the sale of these? thanks, dan August 9, 2005 at 9:03 pm #582381 bcrider 4149 Posts @danger wrote: are these liners made by intuition? Not sure…I don’t think so. You can contact Bomber with questions as well. http://www.bombersplitboards.com/Pages/contact_us.cfm what is the height of the liners? I don’t know the exact height but I can measure mine later. i like the “wrap around” style for better support, but are they too tall/overkill? The wrap around (HPD version) is taller than the Deelux model. I believe the foam is a notch better than the Deelux version as well. I went with the Deelux model because I was concerned that the cuff height on the HPD would be too tall for my boots. can you get a pair with a velcro power strap? The HPD has Velcro. You could add a Velcro strap to the Deelux if needed. what boots do you put them in (hard/soft?)? I put mine into K2 Clicker HBs (discontinued) do you benefit from the sale of these? Yes, if you buy these through the splitboard.com & bomber store…splitboard.com gets a percentage of the sale. thanks No prob…good luck and happy splitting!
