It’s snow show season once again and all the latest tech is slowly starting to trickle out. Here’s a few little teasers..
MFR has confirmed that Arbor will be offering a Women’s splitboard next season and this could be the production model on the left.
Petzl will be releasing their ultra lightweight Altitude harness weighing in at 150g and almost small enough to pack in your fist.
Acteryx won an award at the OR show for their new Procline boot. The boot is suppose to offer 20-30degrees of flex side to side which will help while walking and may not require as much work for Splitters to mod.
Dynafit’s TLT7 will feature a redeisgned toe as well as a new single buckle system. The boot will weigh in at 1,010g and will also be available in the Carbonio model which will bring the weight down to 990g.
Voile will be introducing a new pinless binding system as well as new board aimed at the DIY guys.
Voile’s new SpeedRail binding will feature touring hooks similar to that of the K2 Quicker binding. We’ve heard but are yet to confirm that they partnered with K2 on this. The bindings will utilize standard pucks but will slide on heel first as appose to toe first. The base features a lock that locks the binding into place when in ride mode. The bindings will also feature revised straps. The binding is expected to retail for approx $350 next season.
Voile will be introducing the Spartan as an entry level board. With the expectations that the board will retail for approximately $550, Voile believes many riders would opt for this over the DIY route.
Any word on the K2 Aspect boots? I’ve seen the short Youtube about them, but i’m wondering if any actual split boarders got their hands on them. Thanks for the info and as always I’m excited to see what comes out next!
It sounds like Sno Planks, the hand built bamboo board builder out of Bend OR, will be revamping their line up for next season. This SnoDay Split will be one of the women’s specific models.
K2 will be returning with the Northern Lite, Panoramic and Ultra split. There have been rumors of some of the Enjoyer boards being released as splitboards this season as well. The layout image of the K2 Cool Bean as a split has been floating around and it sounds like its going to happen.
A friend of mine has been riding the Party Platter lately and loving it and another friend has been on the Aspects but I haven’t had a chance to talk to him about them. He took a pair to south America in the early fall to put some early season abuse on them.
I knew he had a pro model with them, and upon rechecking their site, he still does….or at least they are still trying to sell them. Maybe the Guch has sherpas that carry his solids using MTN Approaches for any impromptu kicker sessions with Trice.
Karakoram introduces the Prime Connect quiver binding which works with both your solid and splitboards. Karakoram also releases updated and redesigned K Clips. More info to come. ABS releases new P Ride airbag system
I didn’t think Venture wanted it posted until SIA kicked off but since TGR spilled the beans heres the details. As said in the above article Venture will be hanging out at the Spark booth at SIA. They won’t have any samples ready so they will be there to talk about next seasons lineup and their plans for the future.
Next season’s offers a new men’s board as well as two women’s specific models.
I am so glad to see this. Venture’s quality and environmental ethic is unsurpassed in the snowboard industry. This is such great news. I’ll be first in line to support them by buying a new deck.

My formula for calculating the number of toys is “S – 1”; where “S” is the number of toys where my wife and I will separate.
The new Jones line has several changes including their new bolt-less bridge which eliminates base hardware, new Karakoram Ultra Clips, The Storm Chaser splitboard, and as well as some boards now having spoon noses, 3d bases, and construction changes.
