With less than 10,000 posts total, I don’t see any harm in preparing to move to fulltext indexes, so let’s see if this hack fixes the immediate problem…

I was able to make a new thread and post a reply in an existing thread without incident!

Same exercise, this time with MySQL fulltext indices added to the database.

Whoa, dudes! This is the fastest I’ve ever seen this thing run. Keep it up and soon I’ll be posting the big one (article) soon.

by the way, I can’t access portions of the website, such as
    http://www.splitboard.com/reviews
    http://www.splitboard.com/shop
    etc.

getting timed out when I try to ping http://www.splitboard.com

bizzare. the links worked fine for me.

i did however get timed out on my last post…but when I reloaded the post was there and I was the last poster in the Forum index (something that wasnt always happening like it should before).

    ah-hah.

Probably has to do with the host change. DNS servers and stuff. It should be unrelated to the forum bugs and fix itself when the servers catch up to the change. Or something like that…

yeah it was a somewhat minor fuckup on my part. I’ll go ahead and edit the page template that holds all those links, so that it points to the right place.
