Going this february , looking for advise. Thanks! Did it on a split it in April a few years ago. In good weather and conditions (like we had) one can reasonably tour from Blackcomb to hut at Russet Lake in a day – providing you have a light pack. Be prepared for cold, whiteout and slower travel in Feb. click me November 4, 2006 at 7:37 pm #591647 bcrider 4149 Posts Awesome pics in there sverdina, thanks for joining! I’ve never done the traverse, but I’ve done daytrips from both sides. What a fantastic area! You may want to consider doing the extra climbs over Oboe and Flute to exit via the ski area rather than heading down the singing pass trail. Its like 11k of relentless traverse than can be unforgiving on a snowboard. If you do go down the singing pass its proably best to ski it… Currently the snow is crap with a wicked rain crust at all elevations. However, with the high pressure system we’ve had its made for warm, sunny tours. Hopefully we will get some new snow soon.
