The guy was all decked out in what looked to be new or at least close to new stuff, so I bet it was not terribly old. It was terribly undone though. The lift lines, getting stuck on lifts when others fall flat and the crowds on the slopes are why I’m starting splitting myself. Less rude and more solitude. Both seem to work equally. January 21, 2008 at 8:20 am #601510 Mr. splita 23 PostsI wax my dolphin when the wifes out of town .I bet you guys do to. It’s called Snow Shed Wax and they make an anti-stick spray that can be used for topsheets, skins, and bindings. Check it out at http://www.snowshedwax.comIve seen there product and was interested in it but could not find any good reviews at the time. I offered to do a review or to see if they were interested in donating a couple of bottles to the Silverton Splitfest for us to try out and they declined. I was about to spend $20 on an unknown product with no reviews.Tried to find a few good reveiws and still didnt come up with much. anyone have some experience with this stuff? We are in the process of adding a customer review widget to our site as other people have raised this concern as well. There are some good consumer review reviews on backcountry.com and a few solid magazine reviews on the site, especially from the Adventure Journal. Hope you’re getting some snow! January 4, 2018 at 6:11 am #814973 powhound84 95 PostsI’ve never had a much of a problem with smooth topsheets but my NS carbon topsheet is a snow magnet. As much as I love the board, it’s so bad that it almost makes me not want to buy another one. Wonder if that wax would help? Go that way really fast. If something gets in your way, turn. Apply the day before the tour and buff dry. Worked well in wet snow on my NS prospector.More importantly, the day of touring let your board sit outside to acclimate to the outside air temp before you strap in. If not, that latent heat due to the board being stored inside a warm environment will melt the snow on the topsheet and collect more fluffy white stuff. One of my boards has a matte finish on the topsheet and does a great job of collecting snow. Seems like a design flaw….? January 8, 2018 at 8:53 am #815086 powhound84 95 Poststhe carbon fiber weave has a bumpy texture compared to traditional topsheet materials which are usually very smooth. the snow just gets stuck to it something fierce.
