I traveled over to SLC to stay with Uncle Bort O Potty. He seems to call me during every storm they get and tells me how much I am blowing it since I am not there shooting. Well, Bort O Potty, I finally rallied Russell’s Island and the Faty-Pus crew to take on Wasangles. As usual, the touring fanatics in UTAH had skin tracks and lines on every slope and aspect that you could see. It was not easy to find untracked lines that did not have a million squiggles on it. We had to go deeper and farther to find the lines that we did in order to get some decent footy.Enjoy, stay tuned for more from Crested Butte next week.

    Oh yeah! :thatrocks:

The joys of Russels Island, where the only way off is to stay on it to the end! 😛 It was a good time. Glad you guys made it out and glad we were able to take you to the goods, that is just a taste, there are many more areas like that. Looking forward to seeing the whole thing on the big screen. It was sickter to watch those fools get rad. Come on back next season. Or maybe our epic Wasangelas winter will continue into May. Chateau de Potty is always open for you and your peoples.

    UB (a.k.a Bort O’ Potty)

P.S. We slayed waist deep snow again today. This winter in UT just keeps on coming. Time to start thinking about some mountain biking trips too.

Niiiiiice. From that video looks likes some steep and deep for sure. Who was filming from way across at the other ridge or peak? Did you split into two groups and film each other or just have one designated videographer?

Schralptowner goes one way, and the riders go another typically. Then Schralptowner gets to put on down and sit in the snow for hours while the riders bust ass to get up to the top of their lines.

Being a videographer doesn’t look like a ton of fun. The packs are stupid heavy, you don’t get to ride much, and there is a lot of sitting in the cold waiting.

Helmet cam footy from these lines is pretty sweet too. Should make a good segment.

Schralptowner should post a photo of a note the “pro’s” left for us. They were not used to “real” backcountry riding as they put it. Booting 10-20 minutes out of a gate at a resort 5-6 times a day and skinning and booting for hours for a single run are two very different forms of “backcountry” riding. The pro’s sucked it up and still killed it though.

Thanks UB, and thanks to schraphtowner for going the other route and sitting in the cold while waiting for the filming to happen.

Let me just say, I love my JOB! Yes, its a JOB, not a good paying one, but at least I get to call the mountains my office. Thanks to uncle Bort O Potty for showing us around and putting me and Russells Island up. I will be combining all of Russell’s helmet cam footy soon for all to enjoy. This kid has done some great work for us this year and I think the helmet cam cut we do for him will be sure to stoke some folks out. Keep an eye out for more to come from CB and Russell’s head cam cut. Holler

Nice footy Schralptowner! Those were some pretty sick lines. I hope your ride down was epic too!

Glad you all enjoy the little viddy. I just found out that the guy busting the back flip in the end just won the AK Extremes! I can see how, this kid knows how to choose a line with a little bit of spice.

Boarder Girl, thanks for sending out the footy! Jesse and I could not stop slapping high fives after viewing everything. You and your crew have done a great job documenting your epic Utah winters. Props to you all, you will definitely have your own seggy in ST 3, plus the only womens seggy at this point. I will be in touch. And yes, I did have a great line down after shooting. The line I rode was shot the day before and made for some nice shooting. It was a fun ride down except that it was in the shade with bad light, the snow had set up harder and I had this fat pig (camera and tripod) on my back.

All in all, Wasangles never lets me down. I always love coming to see Uncle Bort and the rest of the CORN Crew. Hopefully next year is just as epic in Utah!
