I’m a patient guy, but come on. WTF??? 👿

I don’t expect much. Maybe just a hint of a winter. Something on the horizon. An indication that maybe by the holidays there will be something to slide on.

Let it all out. You’ll feel much better. 😕

I actually thought about starting the same thread myself. Only I would have titled it something along the lines of “AAAAAAAARRRRRRGGG – THUMP -THUMP – THUMP.” The thumps are me pounding my head on the desk after again seeing NOTHING in the 10-day forcast. I may have to do an emergency road trip if this keeps up.

Damn, that does suck. I’d be making some virgin sacrificies to the snow gods right about now.So none of you guys have got a day in yet? I’d be flippin out right now if i hadn’t. I feel bad,i’ve had 9days so far and one of the funnest-faceshot wednesday’s of all time. But no snow in the forecast,i think. Anybody know any virgins?

Yeah, this kind of blows. But, as far as the forecast is concerned, I guess it depends who you ask. This one looks a little promising:

Last year these guys were way more accurate than NOAA or weather.com… hopefully they have it right again this time.

I’ll be in S Lake Thurs – Sun. and may take a hike around Carson Pass whether it’s rideable or not, I’ll post some pictures if there’s anything to see 🙂

Yeah that sucks. I have 8 days so far and 7 bonifide pow days.

I think the lack of snow in California is my fault. Last year when I came out to visit the pods for xmas it was pretty dry in the Sierra’s. It started snowing for real after I left.

I am coming out again for Xmas, sorry guys…

Sierra’s are in California aren’t they? Good luck finding sacrificial material there… 😆
besides, if i remember correctly from last year, you guys were having a gloatfest about all the early snow you had, while i was getting heart palpitations from the lack of snow around here. Out of consideration to your plight, I won’t talk about my five days so far ( insignificant as it is next to splitfire’s time )

Would you consider coming out for Thanksgiving next year? Or Halloween??

What are you guys bitchin’ about? I understand Boreal is open. You could go split up their runs and slide some rails on the way down, on 12″ of man made junk.

    It’s more than I’ve got here… 😥

I can feel it building, way out there, Ullr is just waiting to unload. (Gotta be positive). The only consolation I have is the fact that my board shipment has been set back a few weeks and if it did dump now, I’d have to use snowshoes. I don’t know which would hurt more. At least I’ll be heading through UT & CO next week. If I make it back from that trip without scoring some freshies, I’ll be losing it for sure.
P.S. Is there some way to ban those CO guys from this thread? Do we gloat when it’s dumped 10 feet in a week, only to see the storm fall apart on its way east and dust your moguls with four inches? Oh, yeah, we do. Never mind.

It’s a damn abomination man. I am up in Anchorage right now and all we’ve had was one eight inch dump that trashed a bunch of cars. Right now it got so cold it damn near blew all the snow away and just generally sucks. Avies a gonna be ripe cause of this too. It’s bull… It needs to melt off this crap and start again. Hope things get better down south for you, but know you’re not the only ones out of blow.

Face it guys, we’ve been spoiled the last few years…. Payback is a bitch… It sucks…

Anyway, this does bite… Wife and I are thinking about a road trip over the Christmas break somewhere inland to find snow. Thinking Utah, maybe Wyoming… She’s not fully into backcountry yet, so it’ll be mostly resort hopping…

This weekend I’ll do my part in the sacrificing… Looking at building a little bench out of some old snowboards. See if that does the trick… If anyone wants a perfect condition, mid-late 90’s Matt Goodwill Morrow 176 snowboard, speak up now. Perfect edges, base, topsheed. Rides like a Cadillac with manual steering… Fun at speed, as long as you don’t need to do anything fancy… Think it might become a bench or coat rack soon…

Off to play on by tierney board. At least I can pretend to be carving some snow… that is until I wipe and carve some flesh on the asphalt.

I’ve already predicted the onslaught of winter.

Well, I got some winter prediction observations.

I live in the Napa Valley. The last few winters the snow started flying in mid Oct. and we were skiing by Holloween. During these last few winters, I’ve noticed that when the cold came early, the walnut orchard that I live in had no color. The leaves would just turn brown and fall by mid October.
I can remember a few years back when there was vibrant and intense color in the trees. Those were years where the skiing didn’t start until late Nov – early Dec.

This year the walnut trees are a super bright yellow and a few of them haven’t even started to turn yet. The color has been there for weeks and keeps going and going.

Enjoy the beautiful fall we are having and don’t expect winter until
    – here I go again out on my limb…

the first two weeks of December.

Of course the limb I am out on seems very thin and brittle. Even so, my inner vision remains clear – winter will soon be here.

Well, seeing as how nothing is happening here in CA, I figured it was a good time to go visit the folks in Bend OR for Thanksgiving. They’re getting pounded up here. Rode in a foot of fresh pow at Bachelor today. Probably the same thing tomorrow. Sorry. 🙂

Might be time to consider a road trip up north. Shasta was looking pretty good on Thurs:
