Our friends at Smith Optics have inquired about co-sponsoring an Idaho Splitfest in early April at their private Prospecting Idaho location.

    Splitter thoughts?

Great idea! There would be a Splitfest almost every weekend this Spring!

Who’s going to organize it 🙂

I would highly consider making the trek, we have sleds and overnight camping gear…That would be a pretty epic splitfest location!

Yer darn fakkin’ right I’m interested. I’m going to be in the ID, and BC Selkirks. That would be sweet!

    Great idea!

Silverton is first weekend of April, though….conflicting fests would be lame.

Single, You’ll just have to choose which fest you want to go to. Planning can’t always be perfect. SamH.. if this goes down.. we could meet at the Butte south bound, and ride share??

Yeah, that should probably work. I’ve got a buddy who lives in Ketchum that I’m going to see in a couple weeks but I see no reason not to head down there twice this winter. There is some awesome terrain in those parts and I’m stoked to do more exploring there.

Not sure if anyone might be interested but the Fairfield, Craters of the Moon areas nearby offer some of the most epic snowkite terrain in the world provided there’s good coverage. I have some extra gear and could probably coax my local dealer buddies to consign some more surplus to the cause if folks want to give it a try. By April coverage could be very iffy in the spots I’m talking about but…………………..

A pic of 1 of the spots

    In.

I can imagine there would be several others from the Hole who would make the short jaunt as well. Please post details soon.
