Just wondering if anybody has created a clip of sorts to keep the pin from sliding out when your feet are not in the bindings (especially in ski mode). It is not the biggest deal but it seems to be an issue when you would rather be focusing on something else. For example, situations when you just put the skis on your shoulder for a quick scramble up rock…but then your binding starts falling off because the pin fell out. It would not take much…just a snap or something but I can’t seem to figure it out. Closing the toe stap kinda works but it would be cool if the pin just stayed in the binding. Thoughts?
I know how the bindings work when they are on your feet. I’m talking about shouldering your splits, or strapping them on your pack situations. I would kinda suck if the binding falls down the side of the mountain… it is much more secure in snowboard mode as the pin has to fall out (which it does) and the binding has to fall off the pucks (which it doesn’t). In ski mode pin falls out binding falls off.

Ok then… but how come your pins are so loose?
I mean, mine are pretty stable… and don’t move at all… Are your touring brackets worn out?
yeah, the pin on my rear binding falls right out when I stand the board up on the tail. It’s kinda funny ‘cuz fitting the pin through the front binding is a rather tight affair while the rear is way too loose. When I put the board on my back for a bit of splitbooting inevitably the rear pin is hanging by it’s leash when I’m done. Luckily my binding hasn’t fallen off yet.
The best way to resolve this is to simply use your toe strap to keep the pin in place. It literally takes 2 or 3 seconds. I also reccommend running them from the outside-in as opposed to how they ship (inside-out). I’ve found its easier during transitions and also easier to stow the pin behind the ladder than the toe strap itself.
Yeah closing the toe strap is what I have been doing. I just figured with all the techiness/DIY/engineering I see on this site, someone would have had the minor issue resolved…(with pictures)!
