This means i am available to get out and tour any day. I know it hasn’t snowed in a week but i am convinced there is some powder hiding in stashes on the north facing slopes. I have a pass to Meadows and ride there when i do not have a touring partner but would rather get out in the . I am in good shape and a consider myself a good snowboarder. Send me a PM or hit me up if you want to go out on a tour. Shred on Players! Morgan February 7, 2012 at 6:40 pm #643795 acmcmurray 39 Posts A few of us are thinking of climbing Cooper Spur on Thurs and descending/riding down the South Side. Conditions should be just shy of bulletproof but whatever, we live in the the PNW. Any suggestions of start times to maximize on “good” snow? cheers. There’s a trip report from Friday, with pretty good detail of the conditions up there. Good luck, someone ought to take advantage of this high pressure system. I’d descend late afternoon, to take advantage of as much solar radiation as possible. Mike February 8, 2012 at 2:43 am #643797 christoph benells 717 Posts hey accmcmurray me and a skier bud were going to climb luethold’s on thurs… lets join forces. doubt it will soften up at all. be ready to rappel off a snow ballard past the old chute while strapped in to your bindings. or downclimb if you dont wanna be cool. February 8, 2012 at 2:44 am #643798 christoph benells 717 Posts cooper spur does get lots of early sun, but i’d imagine it will be alpine ice/ sugar snow mix. be ready with your front points. Too bad about the recent bad news up there on the south side…. 🙁 Thinking of some dawn patrol in Newton or Clark tomorrow (Sunday), have to be at work by 10am. I’ll just traverse to the Heather chair. if you’re down, single, and a attractive woman: 320-267-2471 if not, call/text anyways. February 11, 2012 at 9:58 pm #643801 acmcmurray 39 Posts Also, I haven’t been into Clark or Newton yet, and know the parking situation is a bit different with the road construction. What’s the best approach with parking and riding for those two runs. February 12, 2012 at 12:12 am #643802 nwboarder82 166 Posts You can park in the HRM parking lot. There is an area right by the trailhead that you can park. The two times I have been to Newton, I usually crossed the creek and followed the trail along Pea Gravel Ridge, but you might have a better approach with the cat track. I have a couple buddies coming in from the coast and we’re all newish to splitting not boarding, but we’re athletic and fun and stoked. February 15, 2012 at 3:19 am #643811 acmcmurray 39 Posts I just got off from Tilly Jane. Snowing pretty good up there. Great, soft turns. I’ll probably be out there again tomorrow, not early as I’d like as I have to run some much needed errands, but am considering camping at the cabin. One of my tele buddies will be rallying out with me as well. I would say ideally, I’ll be up there around 10am or noon at the latest. Probably see you fellas there. 320-267-2471 February 15, 2012 at 4:18 am #643774 Jefe009 675 Posts @nwboarder82 wrote: @jefe009 wrote: Anyone interested in a Saturday/Sunday tour? I just checked the report for SkiBowl and it looks like rain thurs/friday morning, but then turning to snow midday on friday. We can keep an eye on the forecast and go whereever it’s good. Does Saturday work? www.splitlife.net February 15, 2012 at 4:45 am #643812 nwboarder82 166 Posts I can do Saturday. Its good to hear some tilly Jane trip reports with decent conditions.
