Looking to do some hiking tomorrow. :bananas: November 1, 2010 at 1:42 am #629595 BigJay 342 PostsOct 31stStarted snowing sat. morning at around noon. Snow kept on coming all day and all evening up in Jay. 3-4in at the base of Jay 10-12in at the top.Great snow on the mountain. Colder condition helped a lot compare to the last snowfall. Not a lot of people on the mountain… Still to thin (IMO) to ride the Jet… but Vermonter and Northway were pretty sweet! November 1, 2010 at 2:35 am #629598 rightsider 150 PostsNice! I hit up Stowe again today. Very boney. Maybe an inch at the bottom and 4-6″ at the top. Much lighter than the last storm. Again, the top third was good. The rest was rock/grass boarding.Sounds like we should’ve gone to Jay. November 2, 2010 at 3:13 pm #629597 grubbers 150 Postshit up gondolier this morning. started hiking around 530 and got to the top of the gondola around 645. had to wait until just after 7 for it to be light enough to really see, kind of foggy up top. the top 2/3-3/4 was awesome and had great coverage. not pow, but soft enough that the riding was smooth and firm enough that you could just rip down the trail and get an edge in. the last part was mostly riding on grass with an inch of snow or so on top, but we rode all the way down to the car. it looks like with the slightly warmer temps and sun today the snow at the bottom is going to melt out, so get it while it’s still good. November 2, 2010 at 11:20 pm #629601 BigJay 342 PostsHad to be in Sherbrooke today… on the way back, i could see Orford, Owl’s Head and Jay Peak completely white from top to bottom… There is a good 1in of snow between Sherbrooke and Bromont all along the highway.Seems like we had more up north… So, if you’re thinking of midweek turns, Jay Peak would be the pick… apparently, it snowed all day monday as well… November 3, 2010 at 12:10 am #629602 avalancheman 49 Postswhy wont my new board get here…… i need to ride……. November 8, 2010 at 11:09 pm #629605 BigJay 342 PostsConditions were crappy compare to last week’s unexpected 8-10in… Jay received snow thru the week… but it rained on friday… things were “interesting”… hard pack… very hard pack…Day 3 on the slopes of Jay this year already… first time to the summit… I’ve never ridden this much before the season’s stard and not done the Jet… it’s normally the first one i ride… and last one as well… Compare to a lot of places, i was able to ride top (very top) to the bottom of the Northway.Bottom part of Paradise Meadow (northway) November 8, 2010 at 11:59 pm #629606 avalancheman 49 Postslooking very good up there, wish i was able to get away but i have a ski patrol course starting this weekend…… still waiting to see snow up north here in quebec city…..
