    Hey guys. Been trolling for awhile and about to buy a split but;

    Tried doing some searches, but didn’t have much luck…

    I am currently riding a Raptor X, with a waist of 26.8cm. I am really eyeing up some sales on the Venture Zephyr or the Storm. Both in the longer form have a waist of 26 not in the wide option. I am having a hard hard time finding some deals or leftover stock on wide splitboards, so is 0.8cm really a big deal? Especially with my bindings being elevated a little bit more on the split?

    Thoughts and advice? Also based on the Raptor, which board do you think would be more suited?

    Thanks everyone!

    What size boots and what is the stance angle of each binding?

    A 260 should be enough unless you are a size 11 with your feet straight across.

    Tactics has a smoking sale on Venture boards.

    I ride size 13 Malamutes at 15/15. I have tried none duck stances but actually get bad pains in my back foot.
    Before my Raptor I was riding a Legacy which is only 0.4cm less then the Ventures.

    Yeah, the site at Tactics +10% is what has me really wanting to make something happen. I have a bunch of crap on Kijiji and I just need one bite and I think my wife is gonna let me do it (ill sneak the kit and skins into the purchase too cus that is just being fruggle 😀 )

    I used to ride Burton Canyons and Floaters (268-272 wide) myself and was a little dismayed by the selection of wide splits at first. Now there are some approaching that width. My back foot is +15 and that could cause some drag on narrow boards with my size 11 boot, but I notice it less in the backcountry than at resorts. You would be losing less than half an inch in width with a 260 board, though you do have some waffle stompers for boots. For the sale price I guess I’d go for it and just not do a lot of carving or increase your angle a hair if need be.

    I ride a raptor x solid and an odin-w split. They ride similar and love to charge. If you cant get an odin get the storm.

    I like the Zephyr because even at 160 the waist is 260, whereas I have to go up to a 166 with the storm to get the 160 waist. Gah, so torn, I want something a little playful that I might be able to ride a bit of switch if my legs get tired, so the Zephyr seems to fit this a bit better then the Storm. . .

    Im finding picking a split way harder then when I picked my other boards.
