Forums Trip Reports Mt Twynam – NSW Australia Main Range August 2007 Viewing 10 posts - 1 through 10 (of 10 total)Author Posts August 31, 2007 at 3:08 am #568999 caboose 24 PostsJD & I Met up with Telefred and his brother at PP on Sat morningHiked out from Guthega (Part of Perisher Blue Resort NSW Australia) – across the creek near the Flying Fox, across the plains, over the suspension bridge (in snow shoes) (near Illawong Hut??)then up over a couple of spurs to Twynam Creek Camp Spot (approx 2.5hrs for us unfit ones)We dug in and set up camp while Telefred and his brother started on our camp kitchenAfter a small lunch the TF & Bro went for a hike to the crags on the other side of twynam while JD waited for me to slog up to Tywnam – i was pretty shagged from the hike out – shallow breathing and blisters etcsaw some skiers put some turns in on Twynam and we soldiered on to the topunfortunately once we go to the top the weather had set in and we ventured down from the top of Twynam in Pea Soup (a little sketchy)hike up the ridge opp Twynam and the back to campDecide to build a 1/2 igloo for our packs and have a cuppa (while it started to hail little sago balls)thought i had a bit of energy left so we hiked the small face opp our campsite where we met TF & Bro on their way back from a Pea Soup Hikea little more wall construction around the Kitchen, cooked dinner had some Jelly and off to bedSunday Morning was a bit foggy to start, but then cleared to a blue bird dayTF & Bro headed to the Crags again and did 2 runs down which JD got the second on vidwe headed down twynam in nice vis so we could see what we were doing, up little twynam ridge and back to camp where we packed up the tents and started the hump outriding with a heavy pack adds a new dimension/degree to riding difficultyacross the bridge and the snow on the other side was diabolical slush (i was post holing in snow shoes)about 2hrs back to guthegai must say the TF & his brothers a freaking fit and shite hot tele skiersMt Twynam Sat ArvoCamp Site Kitchen Sat Tracks Nice Line August 31, 2007 at 3:09 am #597542 caboose 24 Posts Sunday Morning It is alive Blue Lake Cornice looking to Caruthers JD & Crags in back ground Guthega Mt Twynam My Mark on Twynam JD’s Mark Skiers left August 31, 2007 at 3:10 am #597543 caboose 24 PostsSmall Video of Triphttp://www.kerky.com/anon/rangemain.wmv August 31, 2007 at 12:05 pm #597544 Killclimbz 1165 PostsSweet man! Been up in the mtns clearing a trail in a favorite area which was pretty much a bushwhack & a good friend just sent me pics from Chile where she was las week so this helps complete the stoke I’m feeling now.Thanks again!!
