This is a copy of info in an e-mail from Bill Glude of the Southeast Alaska Avalanche Center. If you haven’t heard of Bill, I can tell you that he is an awesome guy and excellent teacher. A splitboarder from way back, he taught me avy 1 off a DIY LIB Tech. Bill also has worked with legends Jill Fredston and Doug Fessler in avalanche safety education as well as snow research and is well-respected in the field. Hi folks,Thanks for your support this season. If you would like to help us continue this service, the best help you can give us is to generate some calls from constituents in other states for Sen. Stevens’ S.225 avalanche bill, which would help avalanche programs nationwide. The word is that it will easily pass the Senate but will only pass the House if there is strong support. Our delegation is solidly on board, so the help we need is from other states. California and Colorado are especially important.Dave Hamre is organizing the effort here. Contact him directly if you have friends in other states who are willing to help, 907-265-2457.Bill Gludethe last advisory of the season was posted yesterday http://www.avalanche.org/~seaac/Pages4,05/FieldObsJuneau04_26_05SAAC04_05.html April 28, 2005 at 8:29 pm #581893 fortysix2 112 PostsDo you have a link to any info about the bill?
