Forums DIY and Mods Making a splitboard of a Burton supermodel 162 Viewing 2 posts - 1 through 2 (of 2 total) Author Posts February 1, 2006 at 2:32 pm #567437 Janne 1 Posts Hello! My name is Janne. I´m wondering if it´s anyone who tried to split a supermodel. The supermodel is pretty soft, and i´m worried that it will get to soft after cutting it? Another problem is that 8 out of 12 inserts are in the center of the board. Is´t best to cut the board 5 mm from the center or shoud i cut right through them and fill them up with glue? Thanks! What/if you fill them is another personal question only you can answer. At this stage though, I recomend forgoing the ski screws and inserting the board for the pucks. If you don’t and crash, you run the risk of delamination of the top sheet/core from the forces, even in a mild wipeout. Don’t ask how I know.
