    Howdy all!

There is a lot of chatter about what boot to ride and this one has been on my radar for a while and feel that I have enough time in the saddle with these to do a brief write up on the stock ride as well the minor mods needed to make these a true contender to the TLT-legacy. 😉

Wanted to share my recent findings/love of a pair of hard boots that feel more like a broken-in pair of softies! Well not so much for the lateral, I would imagine they are on par most boots of its kind, but with all of the material removal on the cuff and top of the tongue, it seems to offer a little ease in the lateral flex too.

4 Buckles yes, but very light, the maneuverability is awesome, and customization is straightforward.
Rubber back cuff extender offers a nice damp feel to the heel edge. The tongue with the rubber gasket offers a smooth forward range of motion. The buckles are all flat mounted to the exterior of the shell, so you could get your geek on, and reposition any or all of the buckles if you would so desire. I have a couple moves in mind but will ride this current set up for a while.

Previous boots where a heavily modified pair of G-mont MeagRides post 1G-mont MeagRides post 2 and compared to those heavy beasts these are surprising nimble right out of the box. Rode them for a season stock (inbounds and BC) with top buckles loosened, but clasped, and the cuff locked in ski mode. Had a blast shaving what feels like pounds per foot!!

The only MOD these things really need is the climbing bar drill-out/slot!! Would highly recommend looking into this boot!!

Allowing the boot to have max forward lean I needed to remove a little material where the cuff slides along this rubber gasket in the heel area. Before sanding it would catch and make a “pop” noise that is both audible and physically felt as the boot returned to it’s upward position

Here are the two posts as I have drilled/filed them. It took about 3 days on the local hill to incremental file of the top of the slot out to have a nice full range of motion but still have a max-stop that you could count on if you needed the extra power at the end of the forward travel. I feel like I have them in the sweet spot for me and really happy how they turned out, and will post any further MODs and findings.

Hey! I have a beat up pair of these boots in my garage and I am thinking about giving them a go for splitboarding. Any chance you have the pictures of the mods you made still? the links posted above aren’t working.

    Thanks!

I get the gist but pictures would be a real help here.
