The partnership will combine Jeremy’s legendary backcountry freeriding experience and Karakoram’s innovative design capabilities with the goal of delivering products that redefine the backcountry experience for snowboarders around the world. “We started Karakoram to create backcountry snowsports equipment that challenged the norms and provided performance beyond expectations. The opportunity to work with Jeremy on this journey will bring a perspective destined to help take our designs and products to the next level. Jeremy is truly an inspirational rider and we are beyond excited to be working with him as part of Karakoram,” says Bryce and Tyler Kloster, co-owners of Karakoram. Jones had this to say about the newly formed partnership, “Over the last year and a half I have tested the Karakoram splitboard system extensively in some of the most challenging terrain in the world. By the middle of this past winter it was clear to me that it is the best system on the market and is evolving at a very fast pace due to the expertise and commitment of the Kloster brothers. I am honored to be partnering with Karakoram and I look forward to continuing the evolution.” Jeremy Jones is a nine time winner of Snowboarder Magazine’s Big Mountain Rider of the year and the creator of Jones Snowboards. His latest endeavours have him traveling the world and his own backyard in search of and filming the ultimate splitboard adventures. Based out of Snoqualmie, Washington, Karakoram is an independent backcountry snowsports company started by snowboarders who demanded more from their gear. Karakoram’s first product, the Split30 splitboard binding system, was introduced to the market during the 2010-11 season. For more information about Karakoram visit http://www.splitboardbindings.com. Not to sound dense but I understand that JJ will be doing some R&D for Karakoram, and I know that the new JJ boards come with the K-clips which is pretty cool. But what else? Will you be able to buy a complete with Split30s? Will Jones be investing $$ into their production so that they can meet demands more readily? Obviously, this is an awesome development for splitboarding. Nice to see a big name pushing our sport forward again. September 6, 2011 at 7:37 pm #640031 Chadical 8 Posts Fantastic.
