My split is too fat to be carried tee pee style on my current bag and carrying the board vertically makes the back swing interesting. I shift my pack as I alternate swings, this works on easy grade 2 ice but wouldn’t be fun on a long climb. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Ice tools should be placed to the sides of your shoulders to have a more stable position, and to avoid ice chunks flying into your head/face. If you swing tools to the side you should not have any problems with a verticle carry of the board. It may be how my pack carries the board but it seems my board ends up in the wrong places.
