It’s made by Petzl, is a glacier style axe and has an extendable ski pole out the bottom! Has anyone used one of these? I want one. What a cool idea. Limits the versatility of an ice axe. I think it also encourages people to lengthen the axe and use it as a walking stick, which defeats the purpose IMHO. If you’re in terrain that truly warrants an ice axe, i think its better to carry poles and a separate axe, even if its super short, lightweight, ski mountaineering sorta deal.
