But I can’t find it anymore. I’m curious what your opinion on this is though, as for me it’s not an issue and I feel safe with my split partners if they have good skills and are not retards.I’m assuming the facebook person has a problem with splitboarders having to change over to ride mode, but I probably wouldn’t even do that in most cases. You can ski down, or walk down if it’s a small slide right?Unless it’s a really large avalanche and you really need a board to get down quicker? But i’ve walked on large old avalanches, and the bigger ones are pretty much impossible to ski/board on anyway because of the large blocks of snow. If it’s a smaller avalanche I would just unstrap, turn on beacon and start moving. That won’t take me very long at all.http://flatlandsplitfest.com/ March 7, 2013 at 6:47 am #666805 IrishGav 254 PostsOperation fun spam has commenced, don’t let the mofo bait you, keep it civil and take the piss! :bananas: March 7, 2013 at 7:17 am #666806 Taylor 796 PostsWith the now-official loss of board-free backcountry, angry skiers have suffered the single largest loss of board-free habitat in the history of snowboarding.Hot. Dog. That’s great news.Thank double-daffy goodness they’ve at least still got MRG, Alta and Deer Valley!@sun_rocket March 7, 2013 at 8:47 am #666807 ieism 298 Posts @Taylor wrote:Thank double-daffy goodness they’ve at least still got MRG, Alta and Deer Valley! Not stirring the fire, but to somebody not from the US that still sounds like a rule made by crazy people. I cannot believe there was never an organised attempt to break those rules. You must be a very obedient group of people. :doobie:http://flatlandsplitfest.com/ March 7, 2013 at 1:08 pm #666810 FloImSchnee 291 Posts @ieism wrote:I’m assuming the facebook person has a problem with splitboarders having to change over to ride mode, but I probably wouldn’t even do that in most cases. You can ski down, or walk down if it’s a small slide right? Yes of course. Only an idiot would do a change over. Apart from that: unbelievable, that there still are resorts that ban snowboarders in the US. Let the deluge begin!BTW: super cute photo of your kid, to bad its on that asshole’s page… March 7, 2013 at 5:18 pm #666816 Rico in AZ 559 PostsYeah I saw that photo, weak sauce of him using it. Can’t you just kill the photo by making it private with your photo host? Or if you hosted it on FB, make it available only to friends? If you kill your photo at the point of the host, it should just not show on his FB page, right? If he’s not just kidding around with his troll page, then he’s yet another butt hurt bitch, deeply rooted in his tele supremacy, that has grown tired of folks, skiers and splitters alike, poaching his private stashes. Just another reason to visit CB. 😀 March 7, 2013 at 5:24 pm #666817 prior_rider 109 PostsAnother great reason to not be on Facebook. I recently had Venture post photos of my 4 year old standing on my new warranty replacement split storm. Hope he doesn’t poach my photo next. I think this asshole actually picked up friends (skiers of course) coming down from Coal Bank pass heading south from Silverton on Monday. They had car trouble and needed a ride to town. During the ride this guy ( I have a hard time believing its was another douchebag) went on a tirade on this subject. These are coworkers/ friend of mine who I tour with and completed my AVY1 class with last year. We went for some quick laps on CBP yesterday when the told me the story of their ride. Needles to say it got by blood boiling. I had seem this thread and then to hear that someone, a supposed profesional no less, was spewing misinformation to fellow backcountry enthusiasts while as a captive audience is appalling.
