Once again it’s Aggro-October at sb.com!!! :duel: :poke: :deadhorse:

I know everyone is jonesing for snow but don’t take it out on each other. Go push a hippie down a staircase instead.

chris- what kind of soft boots have you ridden and can you give me a flex comparison? It sounds and looks like your one of those that wants to catch some air!

Anyone else notice that most of these style pictures are of big wave slash turns..and not airs? just saying.

I’m gonna argue that it’s the indian, not the arrow.

Let’s do an experiment, somebody give me a set of hardboots (size 29.5) and some Phantoms, and I’ll go throw a good ‘ol fashioned nasty-steezy method within a day. I ain’t scuuured.

All this debate is just you guys projecting your lack-of-snow-frustration at a computer screen.

For one, airs don’t always have a place in the backcountry. Unknown landings, increased risk of triggering a slide and difficult extraction if you get hurt are a couple reasons to play it a bit safer. Unless we’re lapping a spot and I know what the landing is, I’m not going to blindly launch off something. There’s been plenty of times I’ve looked back up a line and thought “I guess I could’ve hit that”.

Although, this may just be my excuse for not growing up a park rat and therefore, having minimal freestyle skills.

Exactly. Slackcountry airs are one thing but if you’re hucking 15+ footers way out in the boonies you’re asking for trouble. One bad landing and you have an epic life or death situation on your hands. No one ever thinks of it in the moment. We’ve all done it though. I honestly don’t get why OP cares about airing with hardboots. There’s no place or situation where you’d need hardboots to get to a place you’d be hucking airs. If you’re hucking airs way way out with no camera crew or support you’re an idiot and I can’t imagine anyone would want to partner up with someone who’d recklessly put themselves at risk.

BG you took that all wrong it was just in good fun and completely out of respect. You know just dishing it back, talking shit like guys do. I musta hit a sore spot when we starting talking about your 180’s. And yes for sure in the Wasatch you have to race every one to the goods including hippies on tele gear, sherpa rando racers, PowderWhores, not to even mention the heli turds. No one has a job here, I kid you not. And we do farm turns but that’s out of respect for others. And I don’t care about your riding I used your name specifically because you’ve talked shit in every hardboot related thread for the last 5 years. What’s the saying “if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen”. Take care.

    ^^^^^^Sick Chris. Super stylee

Lol, what did I take wrong? You talked shit. I talked shit. Don’t get defensive cuz i owned you on the internets  (cuz I’m right 😉 )

Yesssss!!!! I love preseason boot wars. it’s my favorite part of the year. We just need russman and barrows to join in. I look forward to these little shit talk sessions every season. it’s one of the only stable things in my life.

oh to the original poster. you will never look as stylie in hardboots but who gives a fuck. UTAH makes a point no one is looking stylie in those fucking pregnant zebra nightmare fitwell boots either.

    Ahahahaha! YES!! ^^^

I think “BOOT WARS” would make a great reality TV show. I mean fuck, they have shows for dumber shit.

We need to set up s a fitwell vs fruitboot competition. Skinning/booting + judged riding. Winning team gets to shit in the other teams boots.

I use vans renegades? For soft boots. The flex is pretty similar except the soft boots are obviously a bit more even in the flex.

I run my plate bindings really loose and that makes up for lack of flex in the ankle. I put voile straps over the bails so they don’t pop off.

I grew up riding a ton of park and half pipe, hitting rails and shit all night in my backyard. So I think that helps out a bit…

aw yah sweet another pissin match…. i got some squirt too…..
heres a couple photos just for stoke, both by A.chance, re rinse of me in Eagle’s pipe, and one of JoeyV in the b/c off rmr from Chancy’s blog…

yah sure you can jib / bone more than that in soft boots…. or hard boots too, we don’t spend much time posing for photos tho, and of course timing is a challenge with anything but a pro rig

also, honestly, after skulkin round this site for a couple few years i gotta say that i’ve seen just a handful of good jib shots thrown down, and plenty of robo stiffy photos of softbooters too. maybe i missed something??
try renaming the thread just ‘airs with style’ and see if the softy contributions outperform their proportion of representation.

Brilliant Brooks! I have been trying to find a way to cash in on this reality show gig. Got any contacts? I mean, hell, if they have “hoarders” why not…
Rival splitboard factions living in pow central interior BC vie for fresh pow, steezy airs, and hot chicks. It takes a hard man to ride hard boot…

Tilly Jane 4/20 Hardboot Big Air Invitational. Some softbooter threw some spins, but we didn’t care. Chris was busy working or something, otherwise there’d probably be another RAD photo.

Clearly I won the photo contest with that sweet tindy.

tindy=frontside straight air, names may change, but the style remains the same.
