I accidently ordered an extra set and thought I’d try to sell them before I ship them back. These give you the option of either a 5cm (2″) or 7cm (2.75″) climbing bar. 7cm bar is just slightly taller than the stock Voile bar. Screw pattern matches perfectly, no mods needed. I’m going to see if I can find a little tubing (and include it) so it’s not ‘metal to metal’ and making a bunch of noise. Paid $23.95+ shipping, asking $25 shipped. PayPal works best-

So easy, a 3 year old could do it

I might be interested in these. I think I saw another thread that suggested the G3’s don’t work so hot with the sparks due to where they strike the base plate, causing damage to the binding. Have you tried em with your sparks yet?

I have Sparks bindings and can’t see how it would make any difference from a standard Voile slider plate. I did find some plastic tubing to slide over the bars; without the tubing I guess I could see how the metal-to-metal contact could be a long term issue. In looking at where they contact the baseplate, the high bar hits at almost the same point as the Voile bar while the lower bar is about 1/4″ to 1/2″ closer to the pivot point.

What is mentioned in the thread in the DIY section is that the Mr. Chomps don’t work as the shorter bar is raised up a touch and would interfer with the operation of the crampon.

I just mounted them up today and woun’t get a chance to check them out for another week or so.

BUMP because I’m sending them back for a refund tomorrow, 2/6/08
