I’ll just use this thread to post all my pics/videos instead of making a bunch of threads. So scroll down to the bottom for the latest! So summarize so far, we have had almost 2 meters fall in the 9 days. It buried the somewhat suspect early season snowpack on the bc south coast, and replaced it with typical coastal concrete stability. No sun yet, but lots of pow and treeline stuff. So tons of riding and lots of great friends to share it with!Week 1 video: [vimeo:1bxj4xed]http://www.vimeo.com/34491919[/vimeo:1bxj4xed] Week 2 Video: [vimeo:1bxj4xed]http://www.vimeo.com/34726394[/vimeo:1bxj4xed]I have some pictures too…too lazy to deal with those tonight though… January 9, 2012 at 6:31 am #649887 LeeLau 27 Postshere you go you lazy bum. January 13, 2012 at 12:33 am #649892 wilkez 176 PostsSo high pressure rolled in for a few days. Unfortunately the flu hit me today, so I had time to do this video from jan 10th. The snow is stable and good for shredding alpine lines! This run is one of my favourites so I figured it would be a good choice for the first alpine day of the season. I call it nuclear explosion couloir, because every time I have done it in the past, there is a slight wind coming up over the ridge blows your powder turns way up in the air. Really it is just off joffre shoulder in case you are wondering. I don’t know if it has a real name. But it is one of those awesome lines you can see form the highway to show all your friends next time you drive over the duffey. This was the first time Johanna has been up to hit a line like this, so she was a big nervous on the boot back up the 45-50 degree slopes at the top. But she made it, and shred it to pieces…as did I. And because I am nice, I broke trail the entire way up – all 1200m of the run…it hurt just a little bit.View of the destination from the highway: View of cayoosh across the valley on the way up…the destination for later this week: Almost there Jo… Assessing the damage: And the video! KA abides best thing about having your skins on half an hour from the door. make an 11-3 tour worth while. the highway lines are funny. 20 people followed us into this one. they kindly stopped to let us break trail all the way. when we asked them where they were going, I shit you not, the guys told us they were just following us to see. not not even a single thanks for the skin track!!! dropping into the dark side round 2. good thing its not on the map or some one else might have skied it 😉 January 17, 2012 at 5:34 am #649899 wilkez 176 Posts-15 in the duffey is unheard of! Actually, yesterday was the best day of the year, but I didn’t take my camera because I thought it would be way too cold (-26 at the highway + wind). But there was an inversion, and it bluebird and blower. Oh well. Today was pretty good too after it warmed up from -26 to -3 in 24hrs.What do you do in pemberton on a -30 celsius down day? Go drive your land cruiser on frozen snowmobile trails until you get stuck! But we would way rather be riding…Ben lining up a pillow line (video soon), he stuck it.
