Looking for people in Colorado to enjoy the backcountry with. I have been riding in the BC for three seasons, migrating from skiing several years ago due to a knee injury. I live in Boulder so I am typically in RMNP or in the Indian Peaks area – although I go to different areas if the snow is right. I have Level One AIARE and will be taking Level Two this year.
Always looking for other people to enjoy the BC with. I also like to tackle the 14ers once the snow consolidates in the spring. I am a pretty intermediate rider. I have some weekdays and weekends free, and my schedule is somewhat flex.
Would also be cool to get some people to practice with beacons, moonlight ride, etc.

Hello,
I saw your post and I am actually in the process of looking for people to go on a splitboarding trip with me in Aspen. The date of departure will be January 1st 2013, weather permitting. The trip will be essentially backpacking the four pass loop around the 14er, maroon bells. If your interested let me know and we can collaborate and make this happen! Let me know what you think!
Also, I am down to do anything else if you have a trip planned.

Looking to tour and sled ski a shit load this season and def be dope to have some more prepared riders to go with…Im 31, been riding for a long time and seriously in the backcountry for the last few years. Im WFR and Avy 1 right now and also looking to get Avy 2 this season as well. Im very open this season, weekdays and weekends. Msg me.

@blakoleander, I wont be in town during your tour but am always looking for more heads to ride with. Do u have all your gear? Any certs?

rio, I’m in the San Juans, and I have two sleds this year (though I’m a massive beginner on them). If you make it down, send me a PM.
We also have a splitfest in Silverton this year on April 12-14. check us out on facebook.com/silvertonsplitfest, or the events forum here. Lots of CO splitters come down from Denver area.

weekend warrior here…normally hit the front range/summit county..would like to get into the indian peaks region more
getting into BC more now that i have my split ape…avi gear, check…avi training, limited to free courses and a lot of education through the web from various avi/snow sources…
would love to get out and get some more exposure..
unfortunately i’m a cpa and my time is limited now to sundays free or early laps on saturday mornings (need to be back in denver around 11am on saturdays)..
sliding experience…skied for 10 yrs before boarding, been boarding for 13 years since then…
if there’s anyway to go snow wheeling into an area to go ride i’m definitely down hahaha

looking for a few vail area splitters to hit up the pass or tour around the gore. i go with a couple buddys but it would be nice to have a few more people to go with. avy 1 and proper gear. :doobie:

Looking for someone to split with in the Steamboat Area during the weekdays. Its not fun going out alone and id like to explore this area more with someone who knows what they are doing.

Looking for people to do some backcountry with around front range and summit county. I have my avy 1 class and have been snowboarding for 20 year and use to live in crested butte. I have all my gear and a prior split.
Weekends are my only time to go but can make an exception here and there.

I’m always up to get away from Denver on the weekends and occasional weekdays. Been riding resort/sidecountry for ~16 years, spent some time in Summit CO and Mammoth CA a couple years back. New to splitboarding but have been out a few times this year, in decent shape and really enjoying earning my turns.
Been up to Geneva Basin and Jones Pass with a buddy that has been splitting for a few years now and has avy training, so been learning from him. Want to meet others, learn more and not be stuck with only going when my buddy can. I have beacon/probe/shovel/ava lung but no avy1. I taken advantage of free workshops through Friends of Berthoud Pass, and from working at resorts closely with patrollers I’m just generally cautious in the BC. Looking into taking avy1 soon.
Anyone heading out this weekend, Saturday?

Unfortunately Sunday is out for me, gotta go to Bailey with the wife. Keep me posted about heading back up to Jones/Butler or Indian Peaks. I’ll be buildings my DIY next week and looking to get out on it the following weekend (and getting off this hand-me-down DIY split).
