A quick helicopter bump into a comfortable lodge in the kootenay backcountry. Add a strong early season snowpack, 40 cm of fresh, a super fun crew, and you have all the ingredients for an amazing time. We lucked out to bluebird skys on our flight in. Giving us a quick chance to scope out the many zones Carlyle has to offer. Located at 7200′ in the convergence of 3 alpine bowls, above some steep trees, and multiple pillow zones in site of the lodge. It’s a pick your pleasure kind of place. With so many stacks in the area and dark falling by 430 we got greedy most days causing us to make the ascent out of carpenter pass by head lamp on numerous occasions Did I mention this place had pillows January 11, 2016 at 9:47 pm #788164 JimmyC 351 PostsGreat stuff!!!!
