So I’ve searched high and low on the site and come up with the lots of talk about Burton straps with Spark plates, but I’ve yet to find a single photo? 😯
Anyone mind sharing? Particularly how you mounted the cap strap. (drilled, vs. different ladders)

BTW… Thanks to Will for sending the few pics he had!

I’m too lazy right now to take a picture and post it but you don’t need one to get it done, it’s very simple.

I bought the Burton ultra light cap straps (or some name like that). The ladders are a lot narrower so I called Burton and they sent me the right ladders for free. The only mod was to enlarge the hole on the straps and ladders. I just picked a drill bit that fit the hole size of the straps I was replacing. That’s really all there is to it. Literally a 10 minute process. You’ll be stoked.

No worries Eco, the confirmation that making the mounting hole larger retains enough strength that people are riding with it is good enough for me.
Although if anyone has rigged other Burton parts onto Sparks, I’m still interested in seeing pics.

    Thanks!

Just curious, are you using a Burton highback as well?

    Thanks,

Haven’t done the highbacks…yet, looking for a really stiff highback that is an easier mod than a Burton (I know I’m being lazy). My straps/process are pretty much identical to what Brad described. I did take a razor and cut off some of the excess ladder/ratchet strap ends and the retaining tabs, in addition to shortening the ladders. Definitely lighter, and more cush IMO. YMMV

Chris these pictures are just what I was looking for, Thanks!

My main curiosity wasn’t so much in the mounting but, where the strap ended up being located relative to the boot, and how much ladder needed to be trimmed.

Thanks again to everyone for the posts, I think this will work out nicely.

I wear size 12 boots and trimmed quite a bit off the ladders. I just put my boot in the binding, measure, cut, repeat, until it was dialed. Measure twice cut once.
