So, if you want to talk about Missoula or Helena, or wherever here, no worries but for the most part it will probably just be the same four people discussing the Bridger, Gallatin, Madison, and Absaroka ranges. Here’s to a safe and deep 2013 season.-- samh.net September 11, 2012 at 5:03 am #656731 nickstayner 700 PostsHahaha, I posted a few things from the Beartooths last year! :bananas: September 12, 2012 at 4:18 am #656730 samh 726 Posts @nickstayner wrote:Hahaha, I posted a few things from the Beartooths last year! :bananas:Yes you did and I expect you will again this year too. SW Montana is just such a MASSIVE area that it seemed to me a Bozeman thread – aka Tobacco Roots, Madison, Gallatin, Bridger, Absaroka, Beartooth, and Crazy Ranges was a better name.I’m down for early morning missions this winter, Nick so let’s actually ride together this year.-- samh.net September 12, 2012 at 1:37 pm #656729 nickstayner 700 PostsSadly I live in Billings, a.k.a. the Magic City, now Sam! Otherwise I would love to shred some AM Hyalite tours with you.I think the Bozeman Thread is a good title BTW. September 12, 2012 at 8:38 pm #656732 nordicbordn 225 Postsim a bozemanite by winter and an east coaster by summer. hope to make it out that way in the spring, and feast on some mashed potatoes, etc. hope we get some solid snow this winter. wont be tough to beat last year, imo September 14, 2012 at 2:59 am #656733 samh 726 Posts @nickstayner wrote:…I live in BillingsAh yes, I’d forgotten about your move. I do believe that’s where a special lady is living though, yeah? Perhaps a Northern Ab/tooth meetup is in order?-- samh.net September 14, 2012 at 2:59 am #656734 samh 726 Posts @nordicbordn wrote:…wont be tough to beat last year, imoDang straight on that one!-- samh.net September 14, 2012 at 1:51 pm #656735 nickstayner 700 PostsThat is correct Sam. I’m also doing the nursing school thing out here.I’m sure I’ll still be in Bozeman many weekends this season. Though I have met some splitters with sleds around here and the Chief Joseph/sled in 20 mi to Cooke is less time consuming and accessess amazing terrain. What do you think of the new Woody Creek Cabin for a potential splitfest? September 14, 2012 at 3:19 pm #656736 samh 726 PostsFirst I’ve heard of it, but it looks like it’s going to be a great place. I’ve not made use of any of the for-pay huts anywhere in SW Montana (have spent a week at a place up in B.C. in ’03 though).Woody Creek certainly looks like it has some nice terrain and the price is definitely right.http://www.beartoothpowder.com/woody-creek-cabin/Once the snow starts flying let’s hit up Will, Patrick, Dave, Jeramie, et al and chat.– Sam-- samh.net September 14, 2012 at 7:24 pm #656737 acopafeel 134 Postsi am really hoping to ride with some of you dudes this year. I have so few local touring partners (like 1… ) that I always have to play things ultra-conservative when solo.I have to sit out until mid-Feb this year (new ACL!), so I must put in my 2 cents about having the splitfest after mid-Feb! I kinda assume that you would normally wait until then anyways, in a regular snow year.I have a hard time containing my excitement about the thought of attending a splitfest. September 15, 2012 at 12:08 am #656738 nickstayner 700 PostsWoody Creek is awesome. I have shredded up there and can say it offers terrain for any snowpack, sketch or safe.Cooke also offers other lodging. West Yellowstone is another place i think would be fun for a MT splitter get together.Cody, glad to hear you’re fired up on the idea! September 17, 2012 at 2:34 am #656739 mtsurfr 48 PostsWould be awesome if splitfest happened, especially if it was in Cooke! I was so bummed about last year, was looking forward to meeting more split boarders. Hope it can happen this year!!! Nick, its exciting to have more splitters down here in billings. I think you know one of my friends simon. Going to have a ‘Further’ party as soon as my copy gets here (so excited)!!! Your more than welcome if your not studying for an exam. September 17, 2012 at 3:07 am #656740 samh 726 PostsFingers are crossed for some stability this year. We would’ve done it last year had the conditions not been so epically morose.-- samh.net September 17, 2012 at 1:16 pm #656741 mtsurfr 48 Postsall fingers crossed. September 17, 2012 at 1:42 pm #656742 nickstayner 700 Postsmtsurfr, always nice to hear of more Billings splitters. Get in touch if you want to go ride this season! Live in Missoula but it seems like this was the most active “Montana” thread I could find. Anyway, picked up this guy earlier this week and can’t wait to complete the setup and get out in the BC without a sled. Now just have to make some decisions on a binding setup. I spend a bit of time in Bozeman during the winter riding Bridger/Big Sky/Moonlight as I have some friends down. Ride Snowbowl, LT, & Disco around here and then spend a fair amount of time up around Seeley on the sleds. Bring on the snow! September 28, 2012 at 2:15 am #656747 samh 726 PostsGet a set of Sparks on there and you’re good to go!-- samh.net September 28, 2012 at 4:35 am #656745 nickstayner 700 PostsWell I do believe it is the ONLY Montana thread besides various TRs. So welcome to it! Snow in the forecast it seems? Set us up with another bunk depth hoar layer? Let’s hope not! Besides… I’m not ready to be done climbing yet! Would love to check out Spark’s operation at some point, are they open to visitors? I’ll provide the beers! :guinness:As far as the Edison interface goes, from what I see we won’t be able to get our hands on that until next season, but if I were to buy a set of this years Blaze or Burners, will they be compatible when the time comes?edit: nm.. not compatible… did more looking. Wish the Edison would have came out this season! Viewing 20 posts - 1 through 20 (of 181 total) 1 2 3 … 8 9 10 →You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
