Conditions in the Mt Charlston region have some avalanche danger.
There is about a total of three feet and it is easy to dig to dirt

While digging a snow pack we noticed a weak layer about a foot down that failed.

With a full arm slap to the shovel the whole colomn failed at the dirt level. There was a layer of sugary type snow on top of dirt.

Any aspect that was fairly steep was sloughing down to dirt. I believe the sugary layer next to the dirt is the culprit…Not sure if this layer will last all year but if it does it is definite cause for concern
