So what new vids have ya’ll seen?? Draw The Line (Standard) is exceptional, as always. Killer soundtrack and sweet backcountry lines. I’m so stoked on Jeremy Jones’ part. Standard has been my favorite film co. year after year (remember Dave Downing’s split part in TB9?). I heard a lot of hype about More (Absinthe) but wasn’t too stoked on it. Editing and music were yawn-worthy. New lineup of riders, I miss Romain de Marchi. But I’ve only seen it once, I’ll give it another chance. Spent a couple hours (dialup grrrrr) downloading bcrider’s 2006 movie and unfortunately my old WM player didn’t like it (old computer arrrgggghhh). Got tix to the Anomaly premiere next week. TGR always provides the stoke. :thatrocks: October 6, 2006 at 1:09 am #591094 bcrider 4149 Posts @livetoride wrote: Spent a couple hours (dialup grrrrr) downloading bcrider’s 2006 movie and unfortunately my old WM player didn’t like it (old computer arrrgggghhh). Compared to those vids…mine’s not worth your time! 😆 October 6, 2006 at 2:20 am #591095 livetoride 10 Posts Ski porn is ski porn! The music was sweet, I’ll have to wait til I update my OS to see the video. October 6, 2006 at 2:35 am #591096 DrKoKo 81 Posts the twisted sister scene was total porn. genius. October 6, 2006 at 7:26 pm #591097 Unruly Baker 333 Posts I have been checking out any of the premeirs that come through SLC whether it’s tele, apline, snowboard or anything. I saw PW06 last night, pretty good tele flick and it had a token split section for WOW (of teletips fame). I am anxious to see this one come out. It has AT, split, tele, and everyone gets along. Hows that work? ❓ 😉 http://www.myspace.com/thrillhead They’ll be in SLC November 16th at Brewvies. And they premeir it in Ft. Collins CO on Oct. 27th from what I know. I hear the new Matchstick is good as well. Over and out, UB October 6, 2006 at 7:33 pm #591098 Wyomingsplit_ride 663 Posts The boys from Thrillhead will be showing SchralpTown at the Scrub Fest too! Come on up and get some bc, meet the bro’s from behind the lens, and see some porn! The best of all worlds. I’ll try to make scrubfest. I guess technically I’m one of the bros behind the bro’s behind the lens for thrillhead. They are good friends from when I lived in CO. Cool to see them living the life and going after it. I’ve heard from peeps that saw a premier give it a 7 out of 10. What about the following flicks; anyone see them and feel like rating them? Escramble (Volcom snow flick) Follow Me Around (MackDawg) People (the other MackDawg?) More (Absinthe) Never Felt Better Patchwork Patterns (ThinkThank) Wear It Well (Whiteout) October 12, 2006 at 9:28 pm #591102 snoslut 178 Posts livetoride when you saw Absinthe’s show was it by chance at the Blue Mouse in T-town? Anyways they also showed Volcom’s Escramble and a flick by One Ball Jay. Like the OBJ the best for sure cause of its local roots. I haven’t seen a flick with Mike, Matt and Temple together so that was killer. However I missed Thinkthank’s show at EVO the next night. I heard that was the one to go to. If you’ve seen any flicks by JB Duece Productions you proly won’t be disappointed since there one in the same now. October 12, 2006 at 9:42 pm #591103 LaughingAtYouClowns 74 Posts What’s the name of the One Ball Jay flick? You know of any other NW based films? Was last year’s ThinkThank the one with the birds? Those birds are so fu-kk-nn annoying. Nah, I’m in NE WA. Anomaly tonight in Spokane at the Met!! For more NW stoke check out Funner Films. The Baker locals usually put out some pretty good stuff. They had a short for the FSM Future Film Festival included in last month’s FSM dvd. http://www.funner.us/ As far as More, check it out if you like ginormous airs and thug jib action. Gave it another go last night and I still wasn’t impressed. October 27, 2006 at 5:55 pm #591107 UTAH 830 Posts I just saw PWO6, pretty good tele backcountry flick. As I was watching it, it dawned on me with all the stink you read about snowboard lines not being tight enough on telemarktips.com, I am surprised the tele communty isn’t in an uproar about how big their GS turns are. I’m not going to feel any guilt when I lay down my lines from now on. Hypocrits! October 27, 2006 at 6:28 pm #591108 Killclimbz 1165 Posts Oh hell. They are just jealous that we can lay such huge turns easily and then thread the needle in the trees. Most of the tele kooks I know end up like this guy when they copy a snowboarder. Sorry to dog on ya John! October 27, 2006 at 6:42 pm #591109 LaughingAtYouClowns 74 Posts ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ HahahaHahaha ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Yes, that’s me laughing! I love to watch yardsales. Back on topic. Anyone seen any new SNOWBOARD flicks? and want to recommend them? October 27, 2006 at 10:15 pm #591110 UTAH 830 Posts Haven’t seen any new ones except the absinthe film, so so. If you have not seen best of TB, and 91 Words for snow, those are my must see vids. February 8, 2007 at 4:24 pm #591111 LaughingAtYouClowns 74 Posts Picked up the new snow film from Volcom titled ‘Escramble’. This is not your ordinary, run-of-the-mill, cookie-cutter variety snowboarding film. It has substance and not due to the darwinistic evolutionary slant it is based off due to the claymation and theme. To me that part of the movie detracts from what it is truly about, snowboarding. From the intro with Landvik killing Baker. A segment I had to grab my wife and force her to watch and without explanation show her what snowboarding is to me. Gray as f**k, snowing hard, all hatches buttoned down, steep lines, and a lot of snow (minus the cameraman). There’s a segment of some euro’s riding some euro mtn faces that will make the snowless cry, posers weep, and getters done want to go get’er done. Another segment shows some decent heli-boarding that looks like a New Zealand locale. In New Zealand there is one hit I enjoyed quite a bit. With a heli doing some fly by taping of riders hitting a nice little jump. Especially the slomo of of one rider floating out a method – not those dumb donkey kick style methods. The kind where the base of the board is perpendicular to the ground fully facing the direction of trajectory; Stylie like. Jump to (I think) Jackson, WY with Terd, Bryan Iguchi, and Jamie Lynn. This is very fun snowboarding being filmed. You know you’re watching stuff most every snowboarded could ride but you also know you’re watching several immensly talented riders ripping that terrain up. I’d have to say watching Terd tearing thru and throwing down some fun looking drops at the same time made me miss some of the lines I used to hit at my local mtn. *Almost* made me want to call in sick and go shell out the $50 for lift ticket next time it drops a foot plus. There’s obviously more to the movie than what I’ve mentioned. I’d like to add it does not name the riders at any point. Your guess is as good as mine. The movie is not a ‘get you amped to ride’ type film – at least not for myself or my friends I’ve shown it to. This fact does not make it a poor choice to add to your collection. Rather, go f***ing buy it now. February 8, 2007 at 4:29 pm #591112 LaughingAtYouClowns 74 Posts Slednecks 9: The intro will make you say WTF!?!!! All I need to say is ‘Jim Rippey’. If you think you ever want to buy a snowmobile to just snowboard with – DO NOT BUY THIS MOVIE. Trust me, snowmobiling is addictive. If you are just interested to see some action of people who are out of their minds (and out of their minds talented at riding a sled), have an extra $30, then buy this flick.
