cause the snow and terrain rocks and to get as far away from the masses as possible. I sure don’t care whether the “sport” becomes more popular, on the contrary I hope it’s too much work for most

I’ve been itching to get backcountry tracks for 25 years, and and for the past 2-3 years am finally in a position to get some. The recent “mainstreaming” of backcountry skiing/riding has me wondering if i don’t agree with HuFfer. He may be a misanthrope, but fresh tracks and no crowds definitely has its appeal. And i think that’s why most of us are out there.
I don’t however feel that this is contrary to the community we’ve ( or BCRider) have created on the web.
