Rigorously tested in the world’s most extreme environments, such as Denali and the Grand Teton, the Jones Ultracraft Splitboard is an ultra-light backcountry machine that doesn’t sacrifice riding performance for maximum touring efficiency, thanks to Jones’ top-secret Ultra Construction. This construction technique reduces weight by 25% through combining a carbon top-sheet with carbon core inserts and an ultra-light wood core, further saving weight by eliminating all excess materials. However, Jones uses the same Recycled ABS sidewalls, Recycled Stronger Edges, and Sintered 9900 base that you’d find on the bombproof Flagship and Flagship Carbon models for uncompromising durability and performance. Based on the legendary pow performance of the Jones Hovercraft Snowboard, the Ultracraft Splitboard delivers amazing float in powder with its tapered directional shape, Directional Rocker profile, and slight tail cut-out, which radically enhance the board’s ability to float through the deepest snow. Directional Rocker places camber underfoot for powerful edge hold through variable to icy conditions, should you encounter less-than-desirable snow in the backcountry. There’s more tip rocker than tail rocker, improving float and maneuverability in the nose while maintaining power and stability in the rear for stylish slashes and big landings. According to Jeremy Jones, this hybrid rocker/camber design eliminates most of the falls encountered while freeriding, as “… you either go over the bars in powder, the nose gets caught in a weird crust and tosses you, or you hit a hard tranny at the contact point of the tip and get bucked.”
