Touted as being the ultimate supplement to your airbag, Avalanche Float is planning to release a system which automatically releases your snowboard in the event of an avalanche. The systems designers understand the benefits of an airbag and are looking to further increase a riders chance of survival by preventing the anchor effect a board can have on its rider. When activated the system will release the binding straps and send a distress signal with your GPS coordinates.

Ha…don’t forget to deactivate the distress signal at the fall “blow your airbag off” party…instant authorities.

Kinda short on details. How does the thing release your bindings? Are those little canisters full of explosives?

We’re not too sure at this point but something appears to cause the straps to break.
