In their first ‘Stories From Here To There’ episode of this winter, Miikka Hast and Jonas Hagström head way up north, 500 kilometres above the Arctic Circle to find their first powder of the season. In an area with no ski resorts, lifts, bars or shops the Protest team riders test their early season stamina.
The two Scandinavians take their splitboards for a hike into the darkness. Taking full advantage of the two to three hours of daylight, to ride the amazing powder in this Northern Norwegian region.
Before Protest team riders Miikka Hast and Jonas Hagström head towards the Alps they go for one more splitboarding tour in Northern Norway. The two Scandinavians get what they were hoping for: steep couloirs and great powder.
Jonas Hagström and Miikka Hast arrived in the Alps, finding more pow than they ever could imagine. Their friend and guide, Stan showed them around hiking and splitboarding in his backyard, Engadin, Switzerland, where it has basically been dropping powder non-stop this winter. A high avalanche risk even forced them to stick to the tree lines.
Just 30 minutes hiking away from the resorts, Miikka and Jonas found powder filled open fields and impressive pillow lines interspersed with massive cliff drops. World-class tree riding! That’s what we call quality time.
