Another vote for March. I didn’t have any down days. Great time for the Northern lights too.

Don’t know about the daylight. I don’t think its dark for 6 months.

I know its harder to see the N. Lights in summertime. FYI,If your ever staying in Anchorage and you wanna see the lights–check the weather page in the paper. They give a forecast for the lights and how active they’re gonna be. It was pretty accurate. It’s not too hard to see…[Read more]

Nice. I did this float back in March,in my raft. My cuz and i were jonesin for some desert so we headed out there. We only did the Labyrinth section though, not Stillwater. We put in at Green River stae park and floated down to Mineral bottom. We would’ve done Stillwater but none of the river shuttles felt like shuttling a raft. They were saving…[Read more]

I’ve been gone too long. My favorite pasttimes include–rafting, usually starting in March and going til the water starts to drop. Then its time to bike (downhill) and get my huck on in the dirt.

There are tons of snowboarding movies out there, but a couple that standout from the regular Ski/Snowboard “porn” type movies are:

    Axel Pauporte’s move “Lines”
The Craig Kelly Story “Let it Ride”

and I’ll second the vote for “Steep”. It may be skiing, but it’s about the backcountry aspect, especially more towards the technical…

Splitfire replied to the topic So I left my new Never Summer at Keystone parking lot in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 14 years, 5 months ago

    Oh,damn,that sucks bad. Good luck.

A couple of seasons ago I was parked at the beach at A basin and some dudes parked beside us were gettin ready to leave. One of them forgot to rack the board after throwing it on the ground. When they were pulling out they backed over it and it got stuck up inside the carriage. Ended up snapping the board. Ouch.

Big guys don’t belong on small boards. Small boards are only good for smaller guys that wanna jib. 66 is good. 71 is a great, deep powder board.

I would recommend the Never Summer yurts. I’ve only stayed at one of em,but it was cool. If you look at the guide book there’s some nice loops you can create. You could rent a different yurt each night, and i’m pretty sure you get it all to yourself. Never Summers are prolly booked solid for this season though.

Hmmm,i dunno, like an hour and 45 min to Cameron Pass

    or

1.5 to 4hrs to go thru dirty denver to I-70 and that whole shitshow. Just depends on how many douches rear end each other that day.
