Let me know if you do decide to head up. I can show ya around a little. Powder Hound is gonna head up in about two weeks. We’re gonna do an over night trip and summit of Lassen at the end of feb. Weather dependent of course.

I have a Sled and would be more than willing to shuttle or what ever really to make a trip like this happen. I have to report back to work in April and all free time vanishes with the fire season looming when April Arrives. Late march would be the best. I live In the Lake Almanor area and I’m Relativity close to the Alps!!

Would love to get out into the trinity alps. Been on several wild fires in that area and have always wanted to play in the snow there! If any one is heading in there this winter I”d love to tag along!

It did rain with the storms that rolled through in the first week of December. Since then it has turned to snow and its been great! Shasta seemed to have gotten the snow out of some of these storms but Lassen is doing just fine. Once you’re inside the park boundary the snow base is in place and obviously will only get better!

Lassen was great today! About 6 to 12in of fresh. Little crusty underneath but only noticeable on a few turns. should be good for the next couple of days. Stability was good but could become a little more sketchy with new snow! As for today no signs of avy danger and snow was a blast!

Sorry about not posting a trip report. The snow was very firm and ended up just using crampons for the climb. The base for the park is in place and after these next storms everything will be prime!
