Looks like a great time!Japanuary is on the cards for us next year, missing the pow, the onsens, and the amazing food too much to wait…but theres winter to be had here first! shesplits replied to the topic Outerwear Suggestions in the forum Ladies Gear 8 years, 1 month agoEnded up getting bibs and shell jacket through Trew Gear. They haven’t arrived yet…and neither has the snow…but will let you know how they shape up! shesplits replied to the topic Women's boots? in the forum Boots 8 years, 1 month agoI’ve got the same foot shape as you SofiAk, and traditionally have had a hell of a lot of drama with boots. With your foot shape you should be avoiding burton at all costs – wrong footbed shape.Personally I ride K2 boots, with double boas in the back country and it doesn’t bother me in the slightest – as replacement cables and parts are light…[Read more] shesplits replied to the topic TR: Urinal Couloir > #3girlsonecouloir > Domes de Miage in the forum Trip Reports 8 years, 1 month agoAmazing! Looks like an epic trip, with some serious good times! shesplits replied to the topic furberg needs women's input in the forum Ladies Gear 8 years, 2 months agothanks for the heads up 🙂 shesplits replied to the topic Best split for women in the forum Ladies Gear 8 years, 2 months agoHey WestbeachI can only talk from my own personal experience – so here goes! If you’re not going to be regularly skinning in powder/deeper snow and find yourself on hardpack/only a few cm of fresh I would definitely be looking at something that does not have too much rocker in the tip and tail. For myself splitting in NZ with variable…[Read more] shesplits replied to the topic Headscratching Outside Online Article in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 8 years, 3 months ago“…snowboarding is fun. Luckily I’ve plenty of time to prepare 🙂 shesplits replied to the topic Outerwear Suggestions in the forum Ladies Gear 8 years, 5 months agoTuff enuff – I’ve heard good things about Sweet Protection, kind of tricky to get down here in my experience. ..Probably not impossible though.Emma – I like the look of those bibs! They look pretty skinny. ..any experience of fitting them over snowboard boots? shesplits replied to the topic Outerwear Suggestions in the forum Ladies Gear 8 years, 6 months agoThanks for the tips guys! Had been ogling the Arc’teryx gear for a while and not having a lot of luck finding it for anything less than a small fortune, so it’s good to hear some first hand feedback 🙂The Trew gear looks great! Going to do some serious window shopping now….. shesplits replied to the topic Gnu bpro 155 and Karakoram split30s in the forum Ladies Gear 8 years, 6 months ago:thumbsup: Looking forward to it 🙂 shesplits replied to the topic boots in the forum Ladies Gear 8 years, 6 months agoSeems everyone is in the market for new boots!I’ve been riding K2 women’s Dario boots, which I loved. I’ve got a narrow foot, and teeny ankles so have always had issues with heel lift/general slop around the foot, but I’ve found that the K2 boa conda pulls my heels back and keeps them back! Unfortunately after 5 seasons they are about as dead as…[Read more] shesplits replied to the topic women's splitboard sizing advice in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 8 years, 6 months agoI definitely agree with Arkana, the artisan profile makes it feel a little shorter than it is, so the extra cms shouldn’t make a huge difference – especially in pow.I’m only just over 5’4 and a bit heavier – I usually ride a 154 and have gone for the 153 artisan split and love it. Bearing in mind though, that I am riding New Zealand conditions -…[Read more] shesplits replied to the topic Can we get a womens-specific section on this forum? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 8 years, 6 months agoIn light of your post that I missed, I thought it worth mentioning that I too have ridden, and do still ride men’s boards. I was snowboarding before ‘women’s’ equipment existed.Regardless of if I choose to ride a women’s specific, or small men’s board, I still like to hear what other WOMEN have to say shesplits replied to the topic Can we get a womens-specific section on this forum? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 8 years, 6 months agoBarrows, I think what you really mean to say is that there SHOULDN’T be a need, but it turns out that there is – in what I call the real world. There are plenty of women riders out there participating amongst men (and other women), buying gear at shops that sell both men’s and women’s gear…but you know what, even stores separate their equipment…[Read more] shesplits replied to the topic Can we get a womens-specific section on this forum? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 8 years, 6 months agoBarrows, I do agree that no, women should not be treated differently because they have lady parts, that is the unfortunate reality. We are built differently than men therefore our riding style and needs just aren’t the same. Our differnces also mean that we need equipment to accommodate us. If women don’t need to be treated differently – why are…[Read more] shesplits replied to the topic Outward Canting in the forum Boots 8 years, 6 months agobest of luck with the experimenting! Let us know how you get on 🙂 shesplits replied to the topic Outward Canting in the forum Boots 8 years, 6 months agoThousands od GS racers the world over can’t be wrong! The idea of inward canting is to actually provide a better allignment of your hip/knee/ankle joints resulting in less pressure and joint pain, and also increased stabilty and responsiveness. Even freestyle riders will often ride with inward canting as it can help with pop as it centers your…[Read more] shesplits replied to the topic Outward Canting in the forum Boots 8 years, 6 months agoYep, inward cant. If you feel like your knees are being forced together look at adding lift – lift the toe of your front foot and heel of your back foot. Like Firstlight I’m speaking from hardboot experience, and know what you mean about how uncomfortable that locked in knee stance is..everyone is different so have a tinker! Load More
