not sure which stage of the board process you are referring to, but if you are meaning grinding the edge then I doubt it. I didn’t think to take a pic of the lineup from the base side, but the full edge was there on each half,…[Read more]

Here’s another option.
Get some 2″ diameter bulk discharge/fire hose. It is a vinyl-coated nylon and is available in many marine stores. It is a little over 3″ wide when the hose is laid flat. Cut one edge off so you can ‘unfold’ the hose length-wise, and use your waxing iron to warm the center crease through a piece of baking…

The two halves are perfectly symmetrical, and it is possible to line them up correctly. They shipped correctly aligned with the stock Voile Chinese hooks. When I switched to the K clips I had to start paying very close attention to my puck position, because they could pull the board halves out of alignment. Chinese hooks give…

The tail is the only side that doesn’t line up, the nose is just about perfect. And the alignment pics are without pucks/bindings attached, just the split hooks and chinese hooks on. thanks for the responses.

The artisan doesn’t have a cambered center (that would be what Jones splits aim for), at least as far as it’s advertised design specs – I haven’t seen how the profile ends up being in person. The Voile Artisan is supposed to be more like a cross between the the C2Btx and the K2 flat/rocker profiles- it’s flat directly in the center (like k2,…[Read more]

I got the black diamond spot for a night trail run event and it works great, would have gotten the storm (10 lumens more) but the race was last minute and that model wasn’t available locally.
this looks new, and very bright:

How old are they? I split an older 2006 Atomic Rapture at the end of its life, it has turned out well so far (not as many days on it as I would like yet though). You’ll loose some torsional stiffness, so both those boards from what I remember are super stiff so that’s good.
You’ll want to watch out on what the core is made of, which is why the…[Read more]

that sounds crap. hopefully K2 fixes that up… AND the website claims to have a 100% guarantee. Keep bugging them. There’s no mention of any missing pieces or blemishes on the site, and that board most definitely is supposed to come with hooks.

Hello, just sending an initial inquiry. Is this last season’s (blue topsheet) w/k-clips? This is about the right size for what my buddy wants, but I’d have to check with him if he can buy it right now.
Thanks

so far it seems good. my first experience on the board sucked-the ride down was rock solid at the top and chunky re-freeze at the bottom. After that I had the edges re-sharpened (not that it would have helped on that stuff) and from there I’ve gotten…[Read more]

Has anyone had any experience with this on variable/hardpack? I wish I could get a split for powder specifically, but what I have access to in New Zealand is mostly variable with collections in the right spots. I know company’s ratings are totally subjective (and Rome’s isn’t even a number) but this is about 3/4 up their stiffness rating smack dab…[Read more]

they sell the screw/nuts as a separate pack, and (I think) they only sell 1 size. So what size to include probably isn’t their issue, although it might be our issue depending on our boards’ specs
